  • A Treasure

"We rented this Tuscan farmhouse for one month in the fall of 2012 and found it to be all we hoped for. The house is cozy with a modern bathroom , living room and bedroom on the main floor with a rustic kitchen, with all you need, opening onto the south facing veranda where we often had breakfast . The other bedrooms were in the downstairs walk out which we didn’t use. The view across the Chiana valley with the olive trees in the foreground is outstanding. The house and yard are totally private. The yard has one discovery after another with statues, flowers , olive trees, wine grapes, and pathways that lead you down to the stream running below the mill. The grapes could be picked off of the vines in the yard and were sweet and delicious. A great home base as we took the train to Rome for a few days as well as Florance and Venice. A car is a must. It takes about 15 minutes to get into Camucia and Cortona. It’s a short drive to many nearby hill towns and to LakeTasimeno . The owners were most helpful and have a caretaker living close by that would help with any problems. There were none. We felt right at home there and would stay there again. "The house has everything you need to experience the true Italian countryside. I walked the old Roman road behind the house (3 miles) to the hill town of Cortona every morning. My husband and brother rode the Tuscan backroads, scouting our days adventures. The owner can not be more helpful. I highly recommend."

  • Wonderful VIlla withing walking distance of Cortona

"My wife and I and two other couples stayed in this beautifully restored farmhouse in April of 2013. Views of the countryside from the villa are amazing and walking into Cortona down the old Roman road was inspiring. We made pizzas and Florentine steaks in the brick oven and thouroughly enjoyed ourselves. This was our first visit to Italy, but definitely not our last."

Cortona Travel Tips

Cortona Travel Captures Beauty and Wonder

Who has not dreamt of renting or owning Tuscany villas at one point in their life? Let that fantasy become a reality and start planning your Cortona travel today. With magnificent panoramic views, Cortona is a perfect vacation destination, whether you are hoping for a romantic getaway or a cultural expedition with the kids. In recent years, the town and surrounding areas have grown in popularity due to its appearance in two major motion pictures (“Life is Beautiful” and “Under the Tuscan Sun”) as well as its innate Italian beauty.

Touring near Any Cortona Accommodation

The town itself is very small so no matter which Cortona accommodation you have selected, your best bet is to explore the town on foot. In fact, if you plan on touring the town, please remember to wear comfortable shoes as these perfect Tuscany villas are tucked away among very steep and narrow streets. Be sure to include the Etruscan tombs and a visit to the Palazzo Comunale (the Town Hall), which was built in the 1400s, in your Cortona travel.

The Town Squares of Tuscany Villas

Part of the fun of staying in Tuscany villas is the easy access to quintessential town squares. Cortona travel is incomplete without visiting the piazzas, whether to buy some locally-made bread, see local art, or just to stop in a small café for a glass of wine. Do not miss visiting Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Signorelli, and Piazza Garibaldi.

Cooking and Cortona Travel

If you love Italian food and cooking, this is the place to be! Be sure to book a Cortona accommodation with a fully equipped kitchen so that you can take advantage of some of the freshest foods in town (and some of the best wine on the planet)! If you can, schedule a cooking class which many hotels in the area offer. Learn how to recreate some of your favorite Tuscan dishes and prepare them with ease at home.
