  • Nice apartment; well situated.

"We found this apartment after our booked-for-three-months accommodation canceled on us at the last minute! We found it is as-advertised, spacious and clean. The location is good--within easy walking distance of every major sight in Florence as well as the train station. The neighborhood is quieter than you would find on the other side of the river. We were satisfied with the apartment, especially in respect to the cost. Kevan was easy to work with and very accommodating. To be fair to others, I must back other reviews with regard to the street noise in the master bedroom. If you are not a city dweller or a very heavy sleeper, you will find that it is impossible to sleep without earplugs. Even on the weeknights, you can expect to have a lot of noise until 1-2 am, and the first night we arrived (Saturday) it was even later. The good news is that the second bedroom is much quieter--I can't use earplugs, but I was able to sleep by moving to the other bedroom (there were only two of us, so this was practical). This may simply be an artifact of the historic nature of the building and of city life in general, so just be prepared for this--forewarned is forearmed! The neighbors are pretty heavy smokers, so you may not be able to open the windows opening onto the courtyards, but the air conditioning does work, and there are a couple of fans to help circulate the air, so this works well. One recommendation I do have is to provide a small welcome basket upon arrival. A bottle of water, perhaps some coffee, fruit, biscuits and/or some milk would have been much appreciated. There is a market nearby, so we were able to run down to the market before it closed."

  • Florence Gem

"We stayed here on Via Romana for two weeks with another couple recently. The apartment was great, very well fitted out and comfortable and in an ideal location. You can visit all the sights easily on foot and the train/bus station are also within a 20 minute walk. The neighbourhood is full of shops and restaurants; everything you might need is right there. You can easily cook at home as the kitchen is very well equipped. The apartment has good wifi reception although there is an additional weekly charge for Internet use. George, the owner, is very helpful if you need anything and there are guide books and a good list of suggestions and tips in the apartment. Anyone with difficulty walking or climbing stairs needs to be aware that you will be on the third floor and there is no elevator. We were very grateful to George for helping with our bags both upon our arrival and departure! All in all a fine place to stay and we would highly recommend staying here when you visit Florence."

  • A delightful Fiorentini apartment

"The Medici apartment is a perfect retreat for anyone who wants to live like a real Fiorentini for a week or a long weekend. Its location, behind and in sight of the Boboli Garden walls, is a 15-20 minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio. The feel of the residential neighborhood with its green parks and gardens is a peaceful world away from the tourist hustle and bustle. If you want to experience a classic Italian apartment this place is for you. The kitchen is fully equipped; the two bedrooms are comfy and charming; the living room has a pretty view and the back, open air terrace is the perfect place to share aperitifs with friends and family. We found good groceries and bakeries close by and enjoyed the open air vegetable and fruit market (and the taxi stand) by the Porta Romana -- as well as several small cafés. We ate at excellent neighborhood trattorias all within easy walking distance. Each day we enjoyed the walk down Via Romana and across the Ponte Vecchio to the big tourist sites but we loved coming home to relax in our little corner of paradise. BTW the apartment was very clean, the wifi was good and Italy Perfect was easy to deal with. Great place for a family with older children and/or a group of friends who enjoy walking and/or running."
