  • Best way to experience Florence & Tuscany

"We stayed at Villa Calcinaia and the lower (gorgeous) with a very large group. Additional friends rented the home that sleeps four also on the grounds of Piazzele Michelangelo. Over the course of two weeks we had a total of 14 people in and out of three apartments and a house--a lot for any experienced property owner to manage. Everything was great!! This property is an IDEAL location if you want to truly see Florence and greater Tuscany. We spent a total of five days touring Florence (off and on), took the train (a 10 minute walk downhill) to Pisa (very easy to make this trip from the villa), enjoyed a day at the beach in Viareggio, went to Vinci, Lucca, took a drive into France and Monaco, and did a biking tour/wine tasting through the Chianti Classico region. Other people in our party did either day trips or overnight trips to Rome and Venice. I have a bad back and always worry about mattresses. I had NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER with my back and hips, etc. (I need to ask Paola where I can get one of her mattresses!). Paola, our wonderful owner and hostess, is extremely helpful. She can arrange for taxi services, tours, etc. She graciously drove us to the grocery store and a few other places."

  • Fabulous Italian Vacation

"This truly is a perfect place for two couples. One bedroom upstairs and one downstairs, with a large common area, two bathrooms, laundry, and all of the little extras that you might need and didn't think to bring. Claudia and her assistant were both very willing to answer questions and do what they could to make things go smoothly for us, including introducing us to a tour guide for a day in Tuscany, arranging transportation to our next location, recommending sights and restaurants, etc. The location was close enough to walk to attractions, but off the beaten path enough to feel like "home away from home." The reservation process itself was a bit complicated as we had to wire money to secure the reservation; then we had to pay the balance and a refundable security deposit in euros upon our arrival. This worked out okay for us because it was in the middle of our trip, but it could be problematic if we were heading to the airport from there without an opportunity to spend the refunded deposit. All-in-all, it was our favorite rental while in Italy."

  • Excellent apartment in the historic center of Florence

"I was 14 days in Florence for a Dolce Vita language training course. Rachel is a very friendly and helpfull owner. The apartement is cosy, clean and comfortable. All you need is available. I didn´t miss anything. The location is in a side road,- so it was silence at night and I slept well. That even in the heart of Florence. The life starts when you leave the door and walk 2 minutes. Everything was perfect. My wife and I will certainly come back. Thanks Rachel for your great support."
