  • Beautiful, charming apartment perfectly located in the heart of Florence!

"When our party of 6 adults entered this apartment, we all were wowed by the beauty and cuteness of the apartment! Apartment Overall - The spiral staircase, the brightly lit living room, the cute italian inspired wall-papered bedrooms were all tastefully decorated. The kitchen space is big enough for all 6 of us to gather around the dining table and have our afternoon tea (or wine), and chat over scones, fruit tarts, and cheese. The living room is full of natural light, and it's bright, fresh, and airy. The coolest thing about the apartment was that there was a little notebook filled with places to eat, closest grocery store, -- things that would come in handy to anyone who would be renting the place. Very thoughtful! Check-In: Upon arrival, we were greeted by Dandy who was just very very sweet. He left us with all the directions on how to run the washer and dryer (Italian washer and dryers are very different from US, so ask questions!), work the showers, where the closest grocery store was, and even left his phone number should we have any questions - we never had to reach out to him though! Amenities - The showers were great! No issues whatsoever with the pressure of the water, including the upstairs loft bath which is slightly smaller but still very pleasant. Clean towels. Beds were comfy. Clean linens. Location - The location is perfect! It's right on the other side of the Ponte Vecchio - very close to all the tourist sites, yet far enough from the loudness and business tucked away in your own little secluded local portion of town. It's very close to Gusta Pizza (great Pizzeria joint, closed on Mondays!), and a couple of other eateries, wineries, lots of cute shops! The grocery store came in handy for us to buy milk, wine, bread, etc. It's about 15 minute walk to the bus/train station. Host - Tiziana was SO gracious throughout our entire email conversation, and gave us one of her apartments that had access to an elevator for our parents. And, then I also had the pleasure of interacting with Francoise before our travel to Florence - she too was beyond nice over email! You can tell the owner has a lot of pride in renting this unit, and dutifully keeps it very updated, fresh, and fun. I would love to come back and stay here again! The apartment, even though we were not in it for much time, added so many fond memories to our trip since it was a place we all loved to come back to after a long day of sight-seeing to unwind and relax!"

  • Best way to experience Florence & Tuscany

"We stayed at Villa Calcinaia and the lower (gorgeous) with a very large group. Additional friends rented the home that sleeps four also on the grounds of Piazzele Michelangelo. Over the course of two weeks we had a total of 14 people in and out of three apartments and a house--a lot for any experienced property owner to manage. Everything was great!! This property is an IDEAL location if you want to truly see Florence and greater Tuscany. We spent a total of five days touring Florence (off and on), took the train (a 10 minute walk downhill) to Pisa (very easy to make this trip from the villa), enjoyed a day at the beach in Viareggio, went to Vinci, Lucca, took a drive into France and Monaco, and did a biking tour/wine tasting through the Chianti Classico region. Other people in our party did either day trips or overnight trips to Rome and Venice. I have a bad back and always worry about mattresses. I had NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER with my back and hips, etc. (I need to ask Paola where I can get one of her mattresses!). Paola, our wonderful owner and hostess, is extremely helpful. She can arrange for taxi services, tours, etc. She graciously drove us to the grocery store and a few other places."

  • Perfect location

"We (me, wife, 3 kids) spent 6 nights in Florence, using this flat as a hub for some day trips to Pisa, Cinque Terre and Tuscan wine country, and of course the wonders of Florence. The apartment was spacious and clean, although a little dated. The views from the terraces of the Duomo, and surrounding countryside were spectacular. The location was great, right next to the main train station, so we didn't even need a taxi getting in and out of Florence. We felt very safe walking around even late at night, there were always lots of people around. There were several good restaurants very close by. The only criticisms I have are 1) the apartment does directly overlook the train tracks, so it can at times get a bit loud at night 2) lousy shower water pressure and poor hot/cold output- made for very quick rinse offs! 3) other VRBO properties I stayed in allowed final payment via PayPal, whereas here I had to come up with cash- can be a little challenging with ATM limits (also hate walking around with large amounts of cash) That all said, I would definitely stay here again and recommend highly to friends/family."
