  • A wonderful place for reaching many places in Tuscany

"This was my third stay in Sergio's villa with a group of my students. We come there in February, when there are not many visitors in the historic centers of art and dedicate each day to another place. The villa is situated in a perfect location - near the superstrada Fi-Pi-Li and also very easily reached from Siena. Sergio is a wonderful, generous host and the fact that I keep on coming with a new class every year stands for the rest."

  • A dream come true.

"Our family of 6 arrived frazzled from weeks of touring.Sergio and his villa i leonie was the perfect paring to restore our spirits. The quiet, idyllic location provided us with relaxed family time, which was a major aim of our European travels. The very comfortable villa & grounds , was both large and clean, which enabled our four kids to enjoy the big pool, play family card games in the open space lounge room and chill out in their privacy of their own bedrooms, very important for teenagers ( and parents! ) The villa is nestled amidst vines and olive groves and overlooks hills, studded with beautiful Tuscan housing. Our family enjoyed many a meal on the terrace that overlooks the beautiful Tuscan landscape, we all agreed that the location gave us our authentic Tuscan experience. Sergio is a non-intrusive host who cheerfully met all our needs. We had car trouble and Sergio cheerfully & efficiently organised a mechanic to attend us at the villa, which saved us hundreds of Euros. Thanks again Sergio. Sergio is a thoughtful man so I enjoyed his observations about Tuscan society, local government and the Italian economy. The villa is ideally situated for day trips to all major Tuscan attractions. After visiting teeming Florence, our return to the haven of Sergio's villa immediately settled our travel nerves. As the kids loved the pool and the short walks to the local shops we actually decided not to venture out on two days which rested the kids ( and us ) so that our trip days were all the more enjoyable. Reflecting upon our time at villa i leonie our family agreed that the combination of location, spaciousness of the villa and the personality of Sergio added up to a dream come true. We recommend Sergio and his villa as the perfect place to relax and enjoy an authentic Tuscan experience. As regards our other family rentals we decided not to file any other reviews as they simply did not meet our expectations so Sergio was the exception, hence our review. We are planning another return trip to villa i leonie which confirms our delight with the villa. So to all who read this review, rest assured that your time with Sergio and his villa shall fullfil your expectations."

  • Breathtaking and Memorable Week in Tuscany!

"Our group of 7 couples (friends from college) recently concluded a magical week's stay at Podere le Rondini. Nicola, Allesandra, Paola, and their family welcomed us with open arms. After a delayed flight and long journey, we enjoyed our first meal and night together on the 2nd floor porch of Paola's residence. She had lovingly prepared a meal of antipasto, pasta"pici", skewers of pork, chicken, and outrageous sausages. All the while, the carafes of wonderful, red wine from their vineyard flowed. The meal was capped with a slice of her homemade cake and a shot of Lemoncello. The accomodations at Podere exceeded our expectations! The Capacie comfortably housed six couples while a seventh stayed in an apartment tucked behind Paola's villa. Lemon and olive trees with views of Montespertoli and beyond were our landscape. Day trips to Siena, Venice, Lucca, Florence, and the lovely hilltop town of Volterra were all reachable from our villa. Although we enjoyed our travels, the underrated, charming town of Montespertoli was a ten minute drive away. Markets, food, shopping, wonderful restaurants, and evening volleyball games were all available in this modest town. When we come again, we will likely choose to spend more time reading by the lovely (and large) pool and simply taking in our surroundings. To Nicola and can we thank you enough for your constant patience and guidance and ALWAYS with a smile! Paola, we will never forget how you prepared a Sparkler cake for us on the 4th of July and how you danced with us to Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons!! You have not only been perfect hosts, but also, role models for how one should live life. We will never forget you and our time at your welcoming villa. We truly hope to return one day soon!!"

  • Tuscan Countryside

"Casa Alina, located on the outskirts of the small town of Montespertoli, is a hidden gem. A private home in a cluster of several other homes, the setting is lovely with serene garden space in both the front and the back. Private parking is also available. Renting a car in Florence is easy and the drive to Casa Alina is less than an hour. Beautifully decorated with a mix of antiques and modern pieces, the first floor of the home has a comfortable sitting area, a well-equipped kitchen, a full bathroom, and laundry facilities. Two very comfortable and spacious bedrooms and a large hall bathroom take up the second floor. The third floor, a loft or attic space, serves as a tiny third bedroom. Excellent home-cooked meals can be arranged through Laura or you can try some of the local restaurants. Artevino was an especially good choice for a delicious dinner and Pizzeria Ristorante Il Mundo degli Gnomi was a great casual choice. The town square was a fun place to wander and explore, and the local Co-Op grocery store has all the necessary food and supplies to support your stay. Casa Alina is also the perfect jumping-off spot for visiting the many little towns in the area. It's also very close to Castello Sonnino, a local winery, which offers tours along with relaxing meals overlooking the vineyards. Kimberly is very helpful throughout the booking process as well as a great resource for local activities. In short, Casa Alina was a delightful place to stay - the perfect home away from home."
