"Dear Mrs S., your lovely apartment suited our needs perfectly. The apartment is nicely laid out, well-furnished and, if anything, perhaps too comfortable; we were at times reluctant to leave. Our stay was wonderful, we visited every corner of this beautiful town and also had daily trips to Florence and Pisa as well as Cinque Terre since your apartment is so close to bus and train stations. Thanks for your tips about restaurants and places to visit, we enjoyed very much. After staying in your apartment I learned why people in Lucca and even here speak so well about you. Your properties are worth a 5 star rate. We look forward to returning either at this apartment or one of your other nice places. Cheers! Alicia+Howard"

Bell’Estate is a gem and an unforgettable experience both for family reasons and for life style
"We were a party of eight, 3 generations of family ranging in age from 26 to 81. Arriving at Bell’ Estate we realized that we had not rented a house but were in someone’s home- and we couldn't help but feel at home during our two week stay. As the website photos indicate, each room is beautifully appointed and each one projects a different personality that reflects the owner's family origins and generations.
In advance of booking, Alessandra provided floor plans which we found to be complete and accurate and which were of particular importance given that we had two octogenarians who needed to know that they would be comfortable and able to negotiate what comes with a house built in 1870! Also very helpful both in advance of our arrival and during our stay, was the BE guidebook which included information specific to the house and property, recommendations and directions to shopping, restaurants and excursions. Building and grounds were clean and well maintained –thanks in no small part to Cinzia’s care and tending.
On our first night (feeling very jet lagged), it was a brilliant idea to have arranged for Alessandra’s sister Sonia to prepare us a lovely Tuscan dinner -and as well, get oriented in the kitchen and pummel her with questions about BE and Lucca! We ate dinner out only twice and so became very familiar with BE's kitchen -cooking breakfasts and dinners for eight, we found it to be well supplied with cooking (and baking) equipment, appliances, utensils. We were thankful to have the basement washing machine on hand, it was well used during our stay- not always able to hang laundry on the outdoor line we hung it in the basement without any problem. Evenings were typically cool (cold for our Uncle from Hawaii) and Cinzia made sure that we had enough firewood for nightly gatherings by the living room fireplace.
We found Alessandra always accessible, pleasant to deal with and most helpful. As we neared the end of our stay we sought her advice on how best to arrange for needed assistance at the Pisa airport for our elders -she got on the phone called the airport directly and emailed us within the hour with detailed instructions that were invaluable to a smooth departure.
We whole heartedly recommend Bell'Estate as a wonderful and special place to stay, and Tuscany as a great area - both vital for a great family reunion (and my parents’ 60th wedding anniversary!).
We thank Alessandra and her family for sharing all this with us."

"Alessia's house was very well situated, walking distance to the walled city of Lucca and a short distance to a supermarket. We were met by Alessia at the house and she gave us a tour of the apartment and explained everything thoroughly. She had thoughtfully provided biscuits, olive oil and vinegar to help our cooking. The apartment is quite spacious, and very comfortable. We drove to the house and found there is ample parking in the courtyard. It was delightful to see how many of the local residents had very productive gardens, one of which we overlooked from the living room window. We would recommend this listing to anyone wanting to visit the area and want a peaceful place to stay."
