  • Week of Florence

"My wife and I used Florence as our home base for a 12 day trip. Mary was outstanding in helping us get situated and was easily accessible for any questions. The apartment was perfect for us. Plenty of room. Far enough from train station, but close enough for us to walk and get access to Venice/Chianti (bus)/Cinque Terra/Rome..If you want to rent cars they are available on this street."

  • Truly Exceptional

"There's often a gap between expectation and reality when renting a holiday flat. But in this case, there was no disappointment, no letdown, only pleasure that someone's home could become our home so quickly. We're experienced travellers, we rent flats frequently, and there's sometimes a sense of commercial sterility about a place. Not so with this one. We were delighted from the moment we arrived. It's large, spacious, sunny—the morning light coming into the kitchen is beautiful—and very comfortable. In spite of the fact there's so much to see in the picturesque town of Anghiari and the surrounding area, it's tempting to spend a lot of time at home. The flat (which is really more like a house, with two large bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a laundry-room), is so well-equipped with everything one might need, it's easy to settle in immediately. The owner goes out of her way to provide anything and everything one could want: a kitchen that lacks for nothing, books for every taste, information about what to do and where to go, someone on hand to answer inquiries and assist in other ways. And WIFI, which was a blessing since we had cause to make a number of phone calls abroad via Skype. There's a good restaurant across the road, a charming family-run supermarket around the corner, a market every Wednesday, friendly locals in the centre where the shops are, a number of small cafés in the square where you can sit and have a latte and a (superb) biscotti (or a piece of excellent pizza) and feel a part of the community. We can't recommend this too highly. It was exactly what we had hoped for, a chance to pretend we lived in Italy, a country we love to be in, and immerse ourselves in the culture. This is a home that contributed greatly to our doing just that. We would have stayed for a month if we could."

  • Wonderful Villa and service received

"We spent two wonderful weeks at this villa in September this year. The description and photographs of the property are entirely representative: there are no unpleasant surprises. We were delighted with the property, the location and the service we received. Both the main villa and the hayloft are spacious and comfortable. The pool is amazing and very well equipped with a soft sunbed for each of the 10 of us. The location is certainly perfect for sightseeing, shops are within a three minute drive and the villages of Segromigno, Camigliano and the wonderful Montecarlo which has plenty of good restaurants, are very close. Lucca is very accessible (within a 10 mins drive), as are other medieval, hilltop towns. But we found sitting by the pool or enjoying a meal or glass of wine in the garden equally appealing prospects. Mrs Sonia and her aunt were very friendly, took care of any small problem, and also hosted a visit at the winery for us, which we all enjoyed. Mrs Cristina cooked dinner for us on our last night, and it was spectacular! Everyone in our party of 10 would look forward to another opportunity to stay at the villa in the future. Thanks Sonia!"
