  • Wonderful historic castle

"Forget Chiantishire - here's your chance to enjoy the real Tuscany, in this quirky castle packed with history. We enjoyed two weeks here with our family - loving the homely feel of the house, the pool and garden, enjoying great family meals, and exploring the neighbourhood. Anghiari was an unexpected gem of a medieval walled village with good restaurants and excellent local shops, while Sansepolcro was packed with interest including the market and the not-to-be-missed Aboca Museum. With an excellent train service from nearby Arezzo, the whole of Tuscany is easily accessible. Mario and Hermine were wonderful hosts and we thoroughly recommend Pianettole. Reached by a winding track up the mountain, access is not for the faint-hearted, but quite manageable and we loved the views. The main bathroom is up a fairly challenging old staircase, so not recommended for anyone with mobility problems."

  • Wonderful!

"My wife and I travelled with our 18-month-old daughter. We enjoyed the apartment. The main light went out in the kitchen during our stay and Rosalba had a new bulb for us very quickly. The apartment was a very brief walk to the main museums and we found we loved the restaurants in the adjacent square. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again!"

  • A LOVELY OWNER!

"This tastefully furnished and sunny appartment has everything that makes you feel at home in Lucca and part of tuscan life. We have stayed there twice and hope to return to this dreamhouse. It is situated on a quiet, dreamy street but only a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city, a short walk to the via fillungo shopping street and chucrch-theatres (Puccini concerts take place there!) and almost in front of the antique Town Hall gardens where we often came to relax or read under the sun. This part is the old town and has a beautiful atmosphere. Here you find the real Lucca; great wine shops in the middle of luxury clothes and bone china shops. Enjoy a cappuccino in a bar and watch the Italians stroll by. The apartment itself is comfortable and beautifully furnished. You will find air conditioning, a reliable internet connection , new comfortable furniture and lots of books about Lucca. The comfortable mattress and a new clean bathroom with a big shower (and a lovely view) are not missing. And Mrs Sonia who welcomed us is very sweet. We strongly recommend this appartment; we had been in Lucca before, staying in a hotel. But in this apartment we did not feel like a tourist, but like a local. It made the experience one not to forget."

  • Large Apartment around the corner from Duomo

"This would be a great location for city lovers. It's central, clean and features a great washing machine. It is well equipped with most necessities. The daily Market around the corner is an amazing resource for authentic Tucsan food. The unit is on the ground floor and natural light is rare. There is a fair amount of noise from the roll-up doors in the alley used to store all the local stores Leather goods. For some reason these doors sound like a shopping cart being thrown down a flight of stairs."
