  • Magical corner of Tuscany

"There are places that meet expectations and then there are places that raise the bar so high that they will forever provide comparison of the perfect holiday. Such was the case this fall as we came to call this Tuscan villa home for nearly three months. We are a family of four with two teenage daughters that wanted to find a place to experience the magic of the Tuscan countryside. And we could not have imagined a more idyllic location. The villa is set on a hill, about a kilometer from the village of San Gusme It is surrounded by endless rolling acres of sangiovese grapes. Enjoying the views of distant Siena at sunset became our daily routine with a glass of Chianti. The grounds are full of olive groves, fruit trees and open gardens where we would picnic, pick free figs, and relax by the pool. The villa is located on an enormous Villa d'Arceno vineyard estate. Wild pheasants would cross our path on morning walks. The vineyard workers would wave as they passed. And the peaceful solitude and scenery were truly magical. The house itself is spacious and comfortable, and clearly lived in and cherished by the owners who were friendly, attentive and gracious hosts. It's cozy, clean, light, and well provisioned (there is even a vintage proscuitto slicer!) It is a rare find in a special place that we will long to return to. If you go, be sure to find the hiking trail into San Gusme, and spend at least one evening at the Porta de Chianti restaurant where Augusto will work magic with steak and pasta."

  • A Step Back in Time

"Our month-long Italian adventure began with a one week stay in Cetona at this beautiful and charming apartment on a piazza where the town's daily activities take place right outside your windows. Going to the bakery next door for fresh bread, drinking an espresso or having a glass of wine downstairs at a table on the piazza, or enjoying a daily gelato-all were part of our "living like the locals" experience. Our group of 4 women explored the quaint town and then used a local tour guide, Allen Young, who we highly recommend, to explore places in Tuscany and Umbria that most tourists don't get to see. We also took a taxi to the train station several days and took a trains to surrounding towns to do some sightseeing on our own. We all agreed that this week in Cetona was the best part of our trip. Words and pictures cannot convey how very special this apartment and town are...must experience it for yourself."

  • Magical Vacation Villa

"We had a wonderful and perfect two week stay at this villa in early September 2014. It was everything advertised and more. The “more” part was how much time, detail and help that Valeria gave to us from the first email to her to our final communications after our trip was complete. Valeria gave us a very warm welcome reception upon our arrival on the first day. She could not have been nicer to us. Her tour of the house and grounds made us feel right at home immediately. She was always available to us through our stay if we needed her, which made us feel connected to someone should we have a question during our stay. The lovely welcome basket was thoughtful and appreciated as we made dinner the first evening. The villa was gorgeous inside and out and was impeccably clean. The house is very centrally located to many of the Tuscan hill towns. Great home base for us as we drove daily to different towns, cooking classes, and vineyards. The villa had beautiful grounds and views of the surrounding rolling hills. So relaxing and peaceful especially at the pool and watching the stars on the terrace at night. The house was very well appointed so we were able to prepare food and cook easily with the accommodations. We felt so at home! We would totally recommend this villa to anyone looking for a quality and picturesque rental property run by people who care about their renters. It was a magical vacation and the villa was a huge part of that special memory."
