"We spent a wonderful week at Erbolino. The property provided spectacular views and we will have wonderful memories of sitting on the patio, sipping wine, listening to the birds and soaking in the sunsets. The property is conveniently located on one of the local trekking trails which easily connected to several others. Erbolino is also on the L'Eroica bicycle route, which provided us a great way to explore the surrounding area. Gaiole is the perfect size town, big enough to have the amenities, including some wonderful restaurants, but small enough so you did not feel crowded with tourists.
Enough cannot be said for Anne Marie and Ricardo, our wonderful hosts. They were both very attentive to our needs and provided assistance and answers to our questions whenever it was needed.
5 stars and two thumbs up for Erbolino!"

"We had an amazing time at La Corbina! From the moment we arrived at the gates we were transported to an Italian paradise.
The house has the perfect combination of old world charm and modern simplicity. My favorite part of the house was the upstairs shower. It's large and open with these beautiful tiles. And the hot water felt great after a long day in the cool, winter climate. Also, the bed was comfy and all the linens were just as nice as a five star hotel. Personally, the pictures online don't do this place justice!
The hosts's home is walking distance which was really helpful when we had a question about getting more wood for the fireplace, where to put the recyclables, how to get to the Prada outlet, etc. They were beyond helpful and gracious. They provided not only restaurant/sightseeing tips but also a couple items from their Italian garden for us to use in the kitchen! They also weren't on top of us - we really only saw them when we wanted to! So privacy is not an issue at La Corbina.
I would absolutely recommend La Corbina to anyone that wants a vacation that's not ordinary. If you like big hotels and a lot of people around, this is not your bag. The home is unique for Tuscany: secluded with beautiful views and it's so quiet that you can hear yourself think. Great for couples or a tight group of friends. Great for someone that needs some peace in a tranquil spot (with a nice glass of wine).
We are planning to hopefully come back in the summer so we can use that beautiful pool!"

"La Casina was the perfect base for our party of five to explore the Tuscan countryside. We even took a trip to the Island of Elba and enjoyed every minute. The great advantage of having a villa just outside the walls of Montepulciano made it perfect to become a part of the community for our 4 week stay, and it was wonderful returning to the villa's outstanding views. All of the people of the town were wonderfully friendly and welcoming, even if we could only speak a smattering of Italian.
All of the information on the website regarding the villa is accurate. Though the villa sleeps up to 10 people, we found 5 to be more desireable with two bathrooms and making for a more private sleeping arrangement. Erika was extremely responsive to all of our questions and she made excellent recommendations for things to do and see. We especially enjoyed weekly picnics at the Cugusi dairy farm off the road to Pienza and were delighted to find their cheeses available in Montepulciano as well. We enjoyed stopping by for drinks and having meals occasionally at Trattoria di Cagagno, which is so convenient to the steps into the city. We also followed Erika's advice and enjoyed a sunset dinner at Osteria del Borgo, conveniently located just off the Piazza Grande.
Unless all you want to do is visit Montepulciano during your stay, a car is essential. It took us to the other hill towns, cooking class at La Ciccolina (highly recommended), and a lovely wine tasting with author Jennie Criswell at the Poliziano winery.
Thank you, Erika, for letting us share La Casina!"
