  • Beautiful & Secluded Tuscan Home Perfect for 4

"We had an amazing time at La Corbina! From the moment we arrived at the gates we were transported to an Italian paradise. The house has the perfect combination of old world charm and modern simplicity. My favorite part of the house was the upstairs shower. It's large and open with these beautiful tiles. And the hot water felt great after a long day in the cool, winter climate. Also, the bed was comfy and all the linens were just as nice as a five star hotel. Personally, the pictures online don't do this place justice! The hosts's home is walking distance which was really helpful when we had a question about getting more wood for the fireplace, where to put the recyclables, how to get to the Prada outlet, etc. They were beyond helpful and gracious. They provided not only restaurant/sightseeing tips but also a couple items from their Italian garden for us to use in the kitchen! They also weren't on top of us - we really only saw them when we wanted to! So privacy is not an issue at La Corbina. I would absolutely recommend La Corbina to anyone that wants a vacation that's not ordinary. If you like big hotels and a lot of people around, this is not your bag. The home is unique for Tuscany: secluded with beautiful views and it's so quiet that you can hear yourself think. Great for couples or a tight group of friends. Great for someone that needs some peace in a tranquil spot (with a nice glass of wine). We are planning to hopefully come back in the summer so we can use that beautiful pool!"

  • Magical corner of Tuscany

"There are places that meet expectations and then there are places that raise the bar so high that they will forever provide comparison of the perfect holiday. Such was the case this fall as we came to call this Tuscan villa home for nearly three months. We are a family of four with two teenage daughters that wanted to find a place to experience the magic of the Tuscan countryside. And we could not have imagined a more idyllic location. The villa is set on a hill, about a kilometer from the village of San Gusme It is surrounded by endless rolling acres of sangiovese grapes. Enjoying the views of distant Siena at sunset became our daily routine with a glass of Chianti. The grounds are full of olive groves, fruit trees and open gardens where we would picnic, pick free figs, and relax by the pool. The villa is located on an enormous Villa d'Arceno vineyard estate. Wild pheasants would cross our path on morning walks. The vineyard workers would wave as they passed. And the peaceful solitude and scenery were truly magical. The house itself is spacious and comfortable, and clearly lived in and cherished by the owners who were friendly, attentive and gracious hosts. It's cozy, clean, light, and well provisioned (there is even a vintage proscuitto slicer!) It is a rare find in a special place that we will long to return to. If you go, be sure to find the hiking trail into San Gusme, and spend at least one evening at the Porta de Chianti restaurant where Augusto will work magic with steak and pasta."
