  • A truly magical place

"We have recently returned from a fabulous vacation at La Buro and can't wait to return. It was definitely one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. The home is very well maintained and beautifully appointed. Everything you need to enjoy the Tuscan way of life is offered here and the owner, Elizabeth, went out of her way to ensure we would experience a wonderful vacation. The home has a pleasing, calm atmosphere and is positioned perfectly to explore the surrounding area. Our family of seven truly enjoyed the property and we spent many hours exploring the grounds, going on walks, and swimming in the pool. It was the ideal spot for us to stay in terms of being right in the middle of all the medieval towns we were looking forward to exploring. But the house and property itself held so many wonders that it was often difficult for us to pry ourselves away. The children especially never wanted to leave La Buro and we enjoyed many days just hanging around the property and enjoying the outdoors. We cooked many dinners in the well designed, well appointed kitchen and loved eating them in the outdoors dining area with gorgeous views in the evening. It is such a special place and we all adored it. Elizabeth arranged a fantastic Tuscan cooking class for us at a local farm as well as a dinner in the monastery near by. We also enjoyed a farm tour and cheese making experience (goat and sheep) with lunch overlooking the Val d'Orcia and took a short trip to La Foce which I highly recommend. I feel very fortunate to have spent time at this wonderful villa, it is a vacation we will all remember for a long time to come. Sarah (Ottawa, Canada)"

  • Picturesque setting and charming owners!

"Three of us spent a terrific week at this remarkable property. The villa was spacious, comfortable and equipped with modern amenities. A great getaway, with wonderful alfresco dining, the setting is drop-dead gorgeous, with views of nearby villages within 20-30 minutes walking distance. Having spent the first three days of our stay in bustling Rome, we found this villa to be an ideal location for exploring the Tuscany region. David and Karen were remarkable hosts, escorting us on a day trip to nearby Montalcino to visit local wineries. We couldn't have had a better time!"

  • San Sano Review

"I have known the owner of this property for 35 years, and while he drives me absolutely crazy as a friend, he is a good guy and he really does have a nice property available by VRBO. Four of us recently returned from a trip to Italy and it was agreed that the stay in San Sano was the most enjoyable part of the holiday. This is a village that is very "Italian" and unlike some tourist areas, I found San Sano to be filled with warm and friendly people. A small restaurant located directly across the street is convenient and serves an excellent meal. The apartment is well equipped and has scenic views of both the village and nearby vine covered hills. Upon request, the owner's will provide suggestions on places to eat and activites in the local area. One such recommendation was a restaurant that provided a very good meal and great service, "Ristorante Guidoriccio". It is located in Siena, right off of Piazza Del Campo. The restaurant's owner, "Ercole", is a very kind and entertaining host. I do have plans to return next year and spend more time in and around San Sano. The apartment met all expectations, was accurately described online, and I found it to be a good value. I recommend this as a vacation choice to anyone wanting to celebrate an event (random example.....a 50th birthday) by having a more Italian get away."

  • Beautifully located villa in the heart of Tuscany countryside

"We spent three weeks in this villa. There were four adults and three children. All appreciated the magnificent location of the house. We ate all the time outdoors and could choose between two great dining areas. Both afforded magnificent views of the countryside. The garden and pool were a source of delight and relaxation for all. The house is large and roomy with four nice sized bedrooms and three bathrooms. At times when the house was occupied with seven of us, we would have welcomed a bigger fridge and barbecue! Also, we have a preference for steps into a swimming pool with a shallow end. However we did get used to the ladder into the pool and the kids managed with being out of their depth. The pool and garden were impeccably maintained every week by a charming gentleman. Overall we had a wonderful three weeks and have very fond memories of our holiday."
