  • The perfect getaway!

"We absolutely loved this house! We were 3 families (10 people) renting both the houses for 2 weeks and couldn’t be happier! The houses are very well planned and spacious, both inside and outside, with a feeling of complete privacy thanks to the miles-wide unobstructed view of the wonderful Umbrian landscape. The pool area is just wonderful with a big beautiful pool and a lot of sun beds and shaded areas under the trees. We enjoyed lazy days by the pool and late night barbecue dinners under the grapevines. We also went exploring the nearby villages of Orivieto, Cortona and Montepulciano which are absolutely must-see if you are in the area! Ken and Danica are great hosts; The communication was swift and easy, and they provide you with a binder with a lot of helpful and inspirational information. You can see that they really care about their guests and want them to have the best possible stay - thank you! //Henrik + families"

  • Beautiful and Spacious

"Stayed for 2 weeks and loved every minute. The apt was very large, excellently appointed, and clean as could be. Perfect location with a food mart around the corner and easily accessible to all the sites and great restaurants. Sabrina was fabulous and even did our laundry for a very small fee. Place is the best and we will definitely return (especially with the fully stocked wine rack at local store prices)"

  • Couldn't have asked for better!

"My husband and I, as well as another couple, spent a week in June at this lovely apartment. I had seen pictures, but still, I was skeptical! For the first time, I actually took out insurance because I was sure that the pictures were not the actual apartment. I could have saved the insurance money because the apartment was exactly as described and pictured! The location was perfect. I would definitely recommend parking in the pay lot and using the elevators. From there, it's just a short walk the the apartment. The apartment has a beautiful terrace-comfortable and spacious. Inside, the living room and kitchen area were enormous and luxurious. The gourmet kitchen was better than my home kitchen. It had everything you could possibly need to cook or prepare snacks. Everything was clean. There were three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom was huge and included a fabulous bathroom, washer and dryer and walk-in closet. The other two bedrooms are fine, but can't compare to the master. We had one couple in the master and the other couple using the two bedrooms, one as a changing/storage room and one as a bedroom. It was more than adequate. (It's perfect for a family with children!) I can't say enough about having access to everything you could think of-from hair dryers to universal plug adaptors. There was a library with plenty of information about the area and travel in Tuscany and Umbria. There are plenty of shops and good restaurants in the area. We used the apartment as a base and traveled to many nearby towns, but every night, we walked to a different restaurant and enjoyed local favorites. We were there during black truffle season! Delicious! It was a great week and I look forward to going back. I would highly recommend this apartment."

  • A Taste of Heaven

"What does one say when you come across a physical space that embraces you, renews you and makes it oh so easy to live. Il Conventaccio is a most special and remarkable place to be. I cannot thank the owners sufficiently for the care and effort and vision they had in restoring this 12 century convent property from it ruinous state into the elegant and comfortable home that they have. From the minute you arrive you can only gasp at the beauty of the entire surroundings as you sense the peacefulness within the walls and throughout the land on which it sits. Five of us had ventured from the US for a two week respite and we found a taste of heaven. There is nothing in Conventaccio that was done without great thought and in the most exquisite of tastes. The area is charming and enchanting as one of the many hill towns with its own unique individual history and storied past. All that you read regarding the home's spaciousness and comfort is true but the words cannot capture the deep sense of place and peace it evokes as you spend time there. The mornings are simply wonderful as you awake to the dawn and the sun shows its face, the birds sing, and the neighboring bells begin their toll. You arise to see a stunningly beautiful Umbrian landscape from your window which is calling you to greet another beautiful day in Umbria. Simply breathtaking and the owners have many kind recommendations along with the gracious assistance of their caretaker which makes your stay at Conventaccio so very easy and one which will beckon you to return. WOW"
