  • Must Visit Town and Apartment

"This is my second visit to Casa Spello. The first was for a few years back In the winter. We had a wonderful time in this beautiful apartment and in the historic and equally lovely town of Spello. This time my family and I returned in the summer and was charmed again by Spello itself as well as the ideal location and views offered by this apartment and the gelato!"

  • Spectacular Villa that exceeds the Advertisement!!!

"My wife, Betty, and I arrived home yesterday after a fabulous week at this spectacular villa in Monticello! Many of our friends were going on to Sorrento or Rome for a few more days but we had arrived early and stayed in Rome for 5 days before having Stefano pick us up. He was absolutely perfect and you can rely on referring him to anyone! I didn't compare his costs and I don't care because his friendliness and service was worth every Euro. We also had Nonie and Tita come to the villa on Wednesday and nine of us participated in their lesson and all thirteen enjoyed a terrific meal. It was great fun and Nonie's New York background gave us many moments of laughter. She was great and Tita is obviously a professional cook. The meal was excellent. Betty and I had arrived with Stefano early on Saturday and he left us in Todi around lunchtime. We went to Antica Hostaria Dela Valle and had lunch and struck up a conversation with John, the UK-born owner. We arranged for all thirteen of us to have dinner there on Thursday evening where he served a magnificent four-course meal with wine and was very reasonable. We saw his place in your book and it deserves 4 stars. Clara was magnificent even though our Italian was not very good. She was great and we had her cook three dinners which were terrific. I'm sure she enjoyed the extra income and everyone loved her. Just wanted you to know how special your villa is and that all your local references are excellent. Please feel free to use us a reference anytime you choose. It will be a long time before we get over the beauty of your home and the setting. Regards"

  • Perfect setting for a family reunion in Italy

"Rocca di Benano was the perfect setting in the picturesque Umbrian countryside for a vacation with extended family. The owners have thought of every detail to make your stay at the villa most enjoyable. The villa has all of the amenities of a modern accommodation without losing the charm and character of the medieval villa. The villa even has a wine cellar with complimentary red and white house wine. The bedrooms are spacious, the bathrooms are modern, and the kitchen is well-stocked with high end appliances, staples, and spices. The living areas are comfortable and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed sitting on the beautiful terrace sipping wine in the evening. The pictures do not capture the true beauty and elegance of this villa. The pre-trip information about the villa, the area, transportation options, and excursions provided by Karen, one of the owners, made planning the trip a breeze. We used the terrific services of Francis Surman for transportation to and from the airport and for a wonderful day trip to Tuscany. Simona from Sagraincasa catered two very special dinners in the villa for our family. We would highly recommend both Francis and Simona. Benano is a charming village and our chats with the friendly locals were warm and memorable. Benano is also the perfect location for day trips to the surrounding area. The town of Orvieto is a quick 20 minute car ride and the train station made for an easy trip to Florence. I highly recommend Rocca di Benano. You will not be disappointed!"
