"Our stay at Rocca di Benano was simply perfect. The house is perfect for a group. We were 8 in total, 4 couples celebrating 60ths. The layout is nice as it provides separation and privacy with the bedrooms and bathrooms on multiple levels. The living room is a warm gathering spot. The owners stock the wine cellar with local wine - that was certainly a treat and good wine, too. In addition, all the details the owners provide of places to visit and distance from the house was so helpful and made our day trips much easier. Some highlights: 1) Simona and Catarina (sagraincasa.com) coming to the house (twice it was so good!) and making a most memorable meal of five courses, explaining each course as presented. Simply fabulous. 2) Day trips to nearby cities. Our favorite was Orvieto which is so close. Also loved Civita di Bagnoregnio. 3) Making friends with the locals (even though we did not speak Italian and they did not speak English). One of our favorite people was Ettore, a man who works at the local small grocery/misc. store in Vinceno. He was delightful (great espressos here, too). 4) Visiting local wineries. Our favorite was Madonna del Latte. Leon is a very talented young German wine maker. Palazonne was also great. 5) Enjoying the incredible beauty/views of Benano, Umbria and the Italian countryside. We needed more than a week to do everything we wanted, but we fit enough in to create memories to last a lifetime. Thanks Karen!!!"

"My partner and I stayed at this estate guesthouse for two weeks in late September. A friend who had stayed there previously had recommended it highly. We were expecting a lot and we got it. Everything was way beyond even our high expectations. Simonetta and Corrado were wonderful hosts - always being friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Simonetta and Corrado were generous to drive us to and from the train station and the car rental office. They were also kind enough to invite us on the wine tour of the estate, a highlight of which was exploring the underground wine caves. They also invited us to walk anywhere on the estate and we spent hours walking through the vineyards and olive groves accompanied by Umbria the dog. The guesthouse itself was absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. Simonetta is an architect and obviously a highly proficient one as evidenced by the wonderful design of the guesthouse. The guesthouse sits high in the hills and the views looking across the valley and over to the medieval hill town of Orvieto are spectacular. We loved eating in the pergola or sitting in the comfortable chairs overlooking Orvieto. The town of Orvieto itself is very historic and a fascinating place to explore. We found several great restaurants there but especially liked the fantastic, made from scratch food at the Trattoria dell'Orso. Ciro, the host, and Gabriele, the cook, were warm and welcoming. Our two weeks in this magical place went far too quickly and we'd love to return."

"My husband and our two adult daughters began our recent trip with a three-night stay at this wonderful apartment. We chose to adjust to the time change here. The apartment is easy to reach via train from Rome and a short walk from the train station to the apartment. We could not have been happier with the whole experience in Orvieto. Helene was communicative from the beginning and helpful throughout the trip, without being intrusive while there. There is a cafe directly below the apartment which made a great starting point every morning for pastry and coffee. There are numerous outstanding restaurants in Orvieto. One of our favorite lunches was on the patio at a place called Charley's. There have been many times since our return home that we wish we were back in our apartment in Orvieto. Thanks, again, Helene. We hope to be back again and will certainly recommend this apartment to anyone who may be traveling in Italy."

"We greatly enjoyed our stay at Casa Flavia! The location was perfect: just off of the main street with its shops and restaurants. The apartment was comfortable and had everything that we needed to feel at home. The patio off of the bedroom was lovely but the December weather didn't make it possible to spend time on it. Best of all was the warm welcome and help that we received from Roberta, our hostess. Because the walled city made it challenging for driving and parking, she escorted us to and from a safe area in which to keep our car. The time that we spent conversing with her made us feel that we'd made a new friend! Orvieto and the region of Umbria are beautiful. Be sure to drive to nearby Civita di Bagnoregio."
