Day Dream Believer
"So you've been daydreaming about going to Italy (during work, don't deny it) and your mind wanders to where you might go for the perfect Italian vacation. In your wildest dreams you conjure up an organic agriturismo in the middle of the Italian countryside close enough to the hill towns for day trips, but far enough the tourist madness of Florence or Rome.
Your thoughts float and flit and you see a comfortable apartment with a beautiful view, organic lavender lined gardens, olive trees, chickens (uh huh CHICKENS--this is your daydream, you can have chickens) and charming hosts--one of whom is a chef, communal pasta dinners with fresh pasta prepared by you-YES YOU--featuring plate after plate of pasta covered in various sauces such as mushroom sauce--and your host comes around and grates fresh truffles on top of your pasta (yes TRUFFLES that he says were delivered by the local truffle hunter just that morning) --homemade limoncello and wine pressed from the grapes on the property--and a pool, yes a pool would be nice for those hot summer afternoons--but then you shake your head and tell yourself, no place such as this could exist. And then you sigh.
And then you tell yourself that perhaps a place like this JUST MIGHT EXIST because stranger things HAVE happened, so you stick it to the man for another hour searching VRBO until the angels start to sing and you pull up Franco and Bozena's listing. The choir gets louder as you read about their property until it finally dawns on you with that chorus singing Hallelujah in your head that daydreams sometimes do come true."

"We greatly enjoyed our stay at Casa Flavia! The location was perfect: just off of the main street with its shops and restaurants. The apartment was comfortable and had everything that we needed to feel at home. The patio off of the bedroom was lovely but the December weather didn't make it possible to spend time on it. Best of all was the warm welcome and help that we received from Roberta, our hostess. Because the walled city made it challenging for driving and parking, she escorted us to and from a safe area in which to keep our car. The time that we spent conversing with her made us feel that we'd made a new friend! Orvieto and the region of Umbria are beautiful. Be sure to drive to nearby Civita di Bagnoregio."

"Met Mandy and Susan, the owner, when checking in. They were very helpful explaining where the best pasta and fresh bakeries are located (just steps away).
The apartment met our expectations. Clean and great location. Open the windows at night and enjoy the pleasant air and sounds."

"My husband and our two adult daughters began our recent trip with a three-night stay at this wonderful apartment. We chose to adjust to the time change here. The apartment is easy to reach via train from Rome and a short walk from the train station to the apartment. We could not have been happier with the whole experience in Orvieto. Helene was communicative from the beginning and helpful throughout the trip, without being intrusive while there. There is a cafe directly below the apartment which made a great starting point every morning for pastry and coffee. There are numerous outstanding restaurants in Orvieto. One of our favorite lunches was on the patio at a place called Charley's. There have been many times since our return home that we wish we were back in our apartment in Orvieto. Thanks, again, Helene. We hope to be back again and will certainly recommend this apartment to anyone who may be traveling in Italy."
