  • Better than anticipated

"The home is absolutely charming. The kitchen has everything a good chef could desire. Christina has gone to grey lengths to decorate this lovely home with interesting and pleasing decor. It is surprising that she would allow total strangers to stay here, so when you do, please take good care of everything as we plan to come back."

  • Almost perfect

"There are lots of pros to this apartment and a few cons. Pro 1: The apartment has a great location. The apartment is right on the bus line which can take you anywhere in the city within a short time. Bus ten, which runs frequently, will take you to the train station in 10 minutes, to the Scrovegni Chapel in 8 minutes, and via a change to Bus 3, will take you to the Basilica within 20. Pro 2: The apartment is in a safe location. Pro 3: Although the meat and food are better at the market, if you don’t have a car, you won’t want to have to hoof it all the way back. Happily, practically underneath the apartment, there is a small grocery store where you can buy whatever you need to survive. Also down the street about a half a block is Guion’s Market, a sort of low grade Wal-mart where you can pick up cards or make up or something else you forgot at a reasonable price. Pro 3: The apartment is spacious for a European rental. Pro 4: The apartment is very clean. Pro 5: The people who own the apartment are very friendly and respond quickly to emails. Pro 6: The apartment kitchen is reasonably stocked. I contributed a pancake turner which was needed. :) Pro 7: The lighting in the bathroom is very good. It is also very good in most of the apartment. Pro 8: The heating works well. But you can’t control it. It did not go on until the temperature dropped to 45. That was fine with us as it did not feel cold in the apartment up to that point. Pro 9: There was excellent water pressure in both the shower and the toilet. And plenty of hot water. Pro 10: There is a (tiny) elevator. Pro 11: The wi-fi works very well. Now we get to the cons, and while they are not deal breakers, they are significant. And at least two of them can be very easily remedied. Con 1: The pillows are just dreadful. They are like hard hunks of matted something. Con 2: The lighting in the master bedroom is unbelievably poor. The lamps are more like night lights. Think 20 watt bulb. Con 3: It is also unfortunate that there is not a single place you can sit that is comfortable. The small sofa, suitable for no more than 2 people, is very hard. The main table chairs are hard as a rock. The two chairs in the kitchen are wicker and have thin cushions and at least have some give. All the same, the apartment has much to recommend it."

  • Flo and family

"The listing for this beautiful property was clear and comprehensive with a wide selection of accurate photographs. Twice a week cleaning and change of linen in the spacious and well equipped bathrooms and pretty bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with a large table to seat 8, leading into an elegant drawing room with a wide selection of CDs and DVDs, made this a most comfortable and luxurious place for our family of 9 to stay. An extra bed was provided for the ninth person. The large garden of many acres is full of playful statues, the canal and Colombaia perfect for picnics and a football pitch and where we had freedom to walk and picnic at will. The private garden with swimming pool was perfect for us all, including two small children, with lots of sunbeds, a shady table, towels and toys. The Loggia is a delightful place for lunching and drinks, and lots of parking. Our hosts were charming and so helpful and kind and keen that we should feel totally at home in their delightful house. This is a particularly relaxed and welcoming place to stay. There are all the obvious places to visit but the local villages and Treviso are worth exploring. For anyone interested in the history of the Veneto and to experience a Palladian villa at first hand this is the place to stay. We loved it and would highly recommend it."

  • Perfect Padova

"This was our 3rd stay in Ca Bimba. We may be addicted to this lively, small city and this perfectly situated apartment. The owners are most friendly and accommodating and have added a fast and dedicated Wi-Fi line for their guests at no additional charge. The apartment, sits above the energizing and historic Piazza dell'Erbe in the heart of the city's pedestrian zone, is fastidiously clean and very hospitable. Many restaurants and wine bars are within a few minutes of easy, level walking in a very charming and inviting romantic part of this special city. An elevator in the small building means just 6-7 steps into the living room of the apartment itself. The apartment is located in the historic center of Padova and many of Italy's finest prepared foods and traditional salumi products are within a 5 minute walk from the apartment. For those that enjoy seafood, the variety and freshness are the market standard and many dishes can be brought home with a nice wine for an incredible home meal-just open the doors to the two balconies and serve with a beautiful view of the piazza."
