  • A lovely two weeks in Paris

"We stayed at Didier’s apartment, 38 Ave Suffren for two weeks in August – September 2014. We loved it. The apartment was exactly as described , and comfortable and clean. The kitchen is adequate for whatever you might to chose to cook, and the bathroom neat and tidy. The bed is comfortable and it was a pleasure to wake to sunlight streaming into the room every morning. The lift to the apartment is reliable and the neighbours quiet. The location is excellent. We walked every day. It was not too far to walk to the Bastille and there are three excellent bus lines that bring you right back to the apartment from almost anywhere in Central Paris. We frequently stopped off for a meal at the nearby restaurants and then walked the last five minutes back. Local cheese, meat, supermarket and bakery and wine are all with in a minutes walk from the front door. Didier is very helpful and obliging, and we would certainly highly recommend his apartment for a quiet but central, clean and convenient place to stay in Paris."

  • Amazing House with such a beautiful view

"This home is breathtaking. We were in 8 and there was ample room. The house is clean and beautifully decorated with antiques and art. The terrace off the bedrooms is spacious and great to lounge in. There is even a ping pong table that the kids enjoyed. I would highly recommend this house. Isa was very helpful and nice and always available if we needed anything. I was also very happy with Jane who booked the house for us. If you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of the main cities in the Amalfi Coast this is a great alternative. The town is quaint and has everything you need. The view is also beautify. We were very happy all around with this home."

Netherlands Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to the Netherlands

The main travel hub in the Netherlands is Amsterdam. Schipol Airport, which is located on the city outskirts, is the fourth busiest airport in Europe. The airport hosts both domestic and international flights from Europe and many other parts of the world. There are many direct flights to Amsterdam from the major cities in North America. The airport has good rail and road links to Amsterdam and the surrounding communities so getting to your travel destination is easy. Rail is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to tour the Netherlands. Almost every town and city has a railway station and frequent train schedules. In the cities, there are also many local metro trains and buses that provide public transportation. If you enjoy being active on your vacation, one of the best ways to explore is by bicycle. The Netherlands is one of the most bicycle-friendly destinations with marked cycle paths and detailed route maps for getting around. Because the landscape is relatively flat, it is is not strenuous work and you can cover quite a lot of mileage in a day.

Visitors to Netherlands Accommodation

The Netherlands is a destination that has a wealth of cultural attractions. Anyone who has an interest in European history and culture will have great fun exploring the many historical sites and museums. If you enjoy walking and cycling, the Netherlands is the ideal destination for you to explore independently. If you decide you have had enough exercise for the day but have still not reached your destination, you can simply hop on a bus or train to travel the remaining distance to your destination.

Those with an interest in art will want to spend some time in Amsterdam where famous painters like Rembrant lived. The Netherlands is considered a very modern society where there is much tolerance for all different types of people. Many activities that are illegal in many other parts of the world are practiced openly. If you are a more conservative type of person, be aware of where you are exploring so you don't find yourself getting offended.

Netherlands Travel Attractions

Most travelers spend their time in the four main cities, namely Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht. These cities are the most populated parts of the Netherlands and contain many of the major cultural and historical attractions. Amsterdam is a city filled with beautiful architecture, interesting museums, scenic canals and many coffee shops. It is the main travel destination within the Netherlands. The Hague is a historical city and the residence of the Dutch Royal family. It is also home to the international judiciary. Utrecht has a beautiful historic center and several interesting museums. Rotterdam is the most modern of the Dutch cities and known for its vibrant nightlife.

Favorite Time of Year to Visit the Netherlands

The Netherlands is located in the northwestern part of Central Europe. It has a relatively temperate climate owing to its flat landscape and proximity to the North Sea. Winters are cold and wet although rainfall occurs throughout the year. The summer days are generally long and warm, and ideal for touring and exploring. Accordingly, summer is the peak travel season. June and July are the busiest months of the year but the weather is typically warm from May through September. The landscape is green and interspersed with orchards, fields of flowers and quaint towns. If you are traveling to the Netherlands just for the culture and history, you can choose your travel season. While the weather may not be ideal, most museums remain open all throughout the year.
