"We stayed at this apartment for a month and it was perfect.....Large rooms, high ceilings, beautiful floors, a minute walk to the tram and planty and a five minute walk to the Old Town Square. Just what we had hoped for. Thank you Caspar, hope to be here next year again...back home in Krakow!!"

  • Superb stay!

"Our first trip to Krakow couldn't have been better, mainly because of our apartment choice. The location was convenient to every part of a very walkable city. The interior, linens, and kitchen utensils were 1st class. We would enthusiastically recommend staying here for couples, families, and business people for brief or extended time. Very well managed!"

Krakow (Cracow) Travel Tips

Visitors to Krakow Vacation Rentals

People that will love traveling to Krakow are those with a strong interest in European culture, history and architecture. It is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe and filled with interesting museums and numerous historic sites. Almost a quarter of Poland’s museums are found in Krakow alone. Krakow is home to one of the oldest and most distinguished universities worldwide.

Krakow Travel Attractions

Krakow is the cultural treasure of Poland. The city managed to evade the widespread physical devastation of World War II and is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe. The Barbakan is an awe-inspiring military architectural masterpiece that once surrounded the city as a protective wall and defense barrier. The Raynek Glowny is the city’s old city center. At 10 acres, it is the largest of its kind in all the medieval cities in Europe. The area is dominated by the impressive 16th-century Sukiennice which loosely translated means "Cloth Hall." Surrounding the Sukiennice are several outdoor cafés where you can enjoy a light meal and fragrant cup of coffee. There are also several market stalls that you can browse for souvenirs. The 13th-century Gothic Town Hall Tower is part of the city center, and against a clear blue summer sky makes a picturesque photo subject. The14th-century Gothic Basilica of the Virgin Mary is a beautiful structure and well worth touring. What possibly makes the city center so attractive is that it is completely devoid of any modern buildings. The streets are still paved with cobbled stones and the area is surrounded by a leafy park known as the Planty which was, at one stage in the city’s history, a moat.

Getting to Krakow Accommodation

Krakow has its own international airport and regularly scheduled air links with most major cities in Europe. International and regional carriers operate daily and weekly flights into Krakow, providing easy access for tourists. If traveling from North America or other parts of the world, you may need to first fly to one of the major European cities such as Frankfurt, Amsterdam or Vienna before getting a connection on to Krakow in Poland. For those that enjoy seeing the countryside, traveling by train is a great option. The journey may take a little longer but you get to enjoy the scenic countryside that you would have otherwise not seen. There are also frequent bus links between Krakow and many major European cities. This is possibly the most affordable way to travel, although it can take a little longer to get to your destination. If you are already in Europe and doing a road trip, it is relatively easy to access Poland from other EU countries. However, the driving distance to Krakow is quite far so be prepared for a long journey.

Best Time of Year to Visit Poland Vacation Rentals

The Polish winter runs from October through April and is notoriously freezing. The snowy conditions are ideal for skiing and Poland is becoming popular as an alternate ski destination to the Swiss Alps. Another favorite pastime at this time of year is to visit the mountain spas that offer pampering and relaxation. By the end of April, the snow has usually melted. As the days get longer, the landscape comes to life. From May through August is the best time of year to travel if you plan to enjoy some sightseeing. The longer summer days make traveling from place to place more pleasant and the warmer temperatures provide the ideal climate for enjoying a wide range of outdoor and sporting activities.
