Overview of Poland Vacation Rentals
Visitors to Poland Vacation Rentals
Poland has a rich and diverse cultural history. Each Polish town and city has a unique feel about it. While many of the historic buildings were destroyed during World War II, many have been rebuilt and restored to their former glory. In some parts of the country, ancient castles and summer palaces stand tall, as they have for many centuries. There are some parts of Poland’s history that are incredibly tragic such as the Holocast and the concentration camps of Auschwitz. Almost 30 percent of the Polish population lost their lives during the genocide of World War II. While some people will shy away from this depressing side of Poland’s history, other people who have Jewish ties may find it particularly significant. One aspect of Poland that many people aren’t aware of is its incredible scenic beauty. It is a country with many nature trails that can be explored in the summertime, making it a perfect destination for those who enjoy the outdoors
Poland Travel Regions
There are five main regions in Poland and each has its own unique set of attractions. The largest region is the central region which incorporates the cities of Warsaw, Lodz and Poznoa. The landscape is quite varied and the region hosts one of Europe’s largest remaining natural forest. This is where you can get to see Poland’s wildlife; birdwatching is a popular pastime. The cities offer a host of cultural and historical attractions. Western Poland is a region that shares its border with Germany and the Czech Republic, and has beautiful scenery. The northern region reaches up to the Baltic Sea. It is characterized by sandy beaches with high dunes, magnificent cliffs and lakes and rivers surrounded by dense forests.
Eastern Poland is a region for nature lovers. The primeval forests and beautiful rivers form the habitat for a wide variety of bird and wildlife species. The region is becoming increasingly accessible to tourists. The southern region is possibly Poland’s most visited area. It is home to magnificent mountain ranges, caves and a large number of historic sites. The region has some of the oldest operating salt mines. It is also home to the impressive medieval city of Krakow.
Getting to Your Poland Accommodation
The main air hub in Poland is in the capital city of Warsaw. The Warsaw Chopin International Airport hosts a broad range of European and international airlines. There are regular daily flights from most major European cities. Travelers from North America may need to route via Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris or London before connecting on to Warsaw. As part of the European Union, Poland has upgraded its rail links with the rest of Europe. High-speed intercity trains operate between Berlin and Warsaw as well as between Moscow, Prague, Vienna, Kiev, and Hamburg. Many of the longer journeys such as Moscow and Kiev are night train routes. It is relatively easy to hire a car in Poland and driving around is a good way to see the scenic countryside. Border check points with its EU neighbors have been removed which means that it you are traveling from Germany, there is less red tape to contend with. There are a number of European bus lines that provide efficient transportation to various parts of Poland. This is a relatively inexpensive and leisurely way to get around if you are not pressed for time.
Seasons to Visit Krakow Vacation Rentals
Summertime is undoubtedly the best time of year to visit Poland if you want to enjoy some sightseeing. The winter months are particularly freezing and not suitable for traveling around. The most pleasant time of year to visit is between May and August. The longer summer days are perfect for enjoying a wide variety of sporting and sightseeing activities.
