  • Apartment with Perfect Location

"Great apartment, right in the center of town, yet in a quiet area. Great shopping just round the corner. We had our two girls, aged 15 and 16 years with us. They lived 'for themselves' in the extra room with private shower and toilet. It was a little cramped, and it's the only bad thing we can mention. But otherwise wonderful stay and not our last trip to Rome"

  • Heaven on the Med

"Where to begin? The location: quiet but easily accessible to the highway and nearby villages, a pleasant walk to one beach, a short drive to "probably the best beach I've every seen" (Jason), 2 very good bakeries, grocery stores, restaurants, markets, etc. The views from the terrace of the sea and nearby hills were breathtaking. The accommodation: our 7 adults and 5 children fit in very comfortably. Lots of lounging and table space, open kitchen where several people could work together, very well equipped with large pots, pans, stacks of dishes for 12 people, comfortable beds, large swimming pool with ample seating. There were several areas to hang out together or be alone for awhile. The joggers in the group appreciated the traffic free routes to beach and village. The house was just right for us, clean and well-maintained but very family-friendly. Memories: an evening swim off the rocks below the villa was a highlight, wonderful meals made from local produce and enjoyed on the terrace, with lots of excellent local wine, crazy card games in the evening, making Seville orange marmalade from oranges harvested on the property (Blake) and early morning bakery runs are a few. We would all love to return for a longer stay and maybe someday we will. I would definitely recommend La Lezardiere to a group looking to enjoy a wonderful vacation property together. Thank you to Clare and Eric."

Russia Travel Tips

Visitors to Russia Vacation Rentals

For many years, Russia was closed off to international travelers. When visitors were granted visas, their travel was usually restricted to business travel and organized guided tours. In recent decades, changes in the Russian government have led to the relaxation of travel policies. While travel in Russia is not as easy as in other parts of the world, it is a destination that has become far more accessible to international travelers. Russia is a destination for culture and history enthusiasts. People who will appreciate the country's attractions are those who have read up on the nation's turbulent history and are familiar with the different political figures and government policies. Russia encompasses a vast and varying landscape. There are many natural attractions for those interested in exploring.

Getting to Your Russia Lodging Destination

The main air hub into Russia is Moscow which is served by three international airports. The largest and busiest of these is Domodedovo International Airport, located 23 miles southeast of Moscow's city center. It is also the country's most modern airport and the only one capable of hosting the larger jumbo jets. The majority of international carriers use this airport to transport passengers to Moscow. Domodedovo International Airport has regular commercial flight connections with almost all continents, including Australia and Africa. For some long-haul destinations, travelers may need to route via major cities in Europe or the Far East, and from there get an onward connection to Moscow. The other two airports near Moscow are the older Sheremetyevo International Airport, located 18 miles northwest of the city and Vnukovo International Airport, located 17 miles southwest of Moscow. These two airports serve primarily domestic and regional destinations in Asia.

Best Time of Year to Visit Russia

Russia has a cold continental climate with extreme freezing temperatures in winter and a short and mild summer. Unless you don't mind the icy weather, it is recommended to travel during the warmer summer months of June, July and August. This is also the peak travel season in Russia so it is advisable to make your travel plans well in advance and have some sort of structure to your tour itinerary.
