  • The cat's meow!

"I did a brief search of houses in "the highlands region" in early 2012, as soon as I saw the picture of Loch Ness from the sunroom of Tychat house I knew I would stay here. Finally the time arrived and it lived up to my dreams of what it would be. We were a party of 6 adults, which was a bit crowded perhaps so if you aren't a close bunch you probably want to go for a smaller group. The layout of the house is great for flow and has plenty of quiet little nooks you can slip into, special favorites were in front of the enormous picture windows over looking the loch. The house is on the side of a fairly steep slope so make sure your car has a nice tight turn radius & good gears for climbing. The house is well furnished with glasses, but could use some more plates to get 6 adults through an entire day of dining at home. There are a lot of stairs and varying levels in the house as well as a note of caution for small children or those with mobility issues. Drumnadrochit is a lovely little town with lots to offer a vacationer. Fiddler's & The Loch Ness Inn were both enjoyed by our party. We made a day run ups to the Isle of Skye, down to Dalwhinnie & over the Malt Whisky Trail. My favorite spot of all though was right there in the house doing some Nessie watching. If you are up for a nice quiet relaxing vacation I highly recommend Tychat. I can certainly see myself back there many times in the years to come."

  • Beautiful Clean Merchant's House in the Middle of Edinburgh

"This was one of the best vacation rentals we have ever had! In the middle of the city, walking distance to everything, yet amazingly, on a very quiet street. Large bedrooms, large living room, and great fully equiped and functional eat-in-kitchen. Robin was great to deal with and was always readily available for even the minor issue. The house had every amenity you would need. We would definitely come here again and recommend without reservation or hesitation! Staying here was as comfortable as staying at home!WE loved it!"

  • Wonderful hosts!

"As previous innkeepers, my husband and I fully realize how much time and energy is needed to run a B@B. Debbie and Philip are excellent at what they do-from cleanliness, to decorating, to literally taking you to Rossalyn Chapel! Both have a wealth of knowledge about Edinburgh and are willing to impart this to you in a very warm and often humorous way. We had a wonderful stay in the Garden Apartment for 10 days and that is do to our wonderful hosts. The location on the park was great-a feeling of country in the city. We found using the buses easy and that is saying something for people that don't use public transportation very much! Food was really very good-thanks to recommendations from Debbie and Philip. As for our apartment, it was beyond expectations! I have never seen such clean grout in a bath in my entire life! We would love to come back again. Mike and Sue"

  • Wonderful house!

"We had 6 adults, golfers and non-golfers, and we all loved the Vintage! It looked exactly the same as the pictures and had great amenities. The bedrooms, lounge area, sun room, and kitchen were accommodating for 3 couples. The location was spectacular! For the golfers, the location can't be beat to the Old Course and other courses. For the non-golfers, everything in town was in walking distance, including the market and tourist attractions. St. Andrews is a lovely walkable town with so many beautiful and interesting sites. The house was so quiet, and we slept great! We loved all of the eating options and explored various restaurants. We would definitely recommend the Vintage to anyone! Only thing to be aware of is the lack of a clothes dryer, so any laundry requires line drying."
