  • Lovely comfy cottage

"We spent fivenights in the cottage which was very comfortable and clean. It had everything that we could possibly have needed as a family of two adults and two small children. The setting of the cottage is totally idillic on a beautiful estate and also there were so many great things close-by to do with our daughter who is two years old. The owner couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We even spent a bit I time with her collecting eggs from the hens and visiting the Shetland ponies much to my daughter's delight. A lovely place to stay."

  • Incredible Vacation Spot

"My Partner and I were celebrating one of life's milestones and we were so glad we chose the hospitality of Debbie and Philip who made our stay in Edinburgh incredible. From the fact that the apartment had everything we needed to feel at home and a place to relax after days of exploration of the sights throughout Edinburgh. To sharing their knowledge of the city and surroundings to make the best of a few days exploring the city. . We found that using Pilrig House as our base it was very easy getting throughout the city using public transportation. Thank you for making a "special" Birthday even better."

  • The cat's meow!

"I did a brief search of houses in "the highlands region" in early 2012, as soon as I saw the picture of Loch Ness from the sunroom of Tychat house I knew I would stay here. Finally the time arrived and it lived up to my dreams of what it would be. We were a party of 6 adults, which was a bit crowded perhaps so if you aren't a close bunch you probably want to go for a smaller group. The layout of the house is great for flow and has plenty of quiet little nooks you can slip into, special favorites were in front of the enormous picture windows over looking the loch. The house is on the side of a fairly steep slope so make sure your car has a nice tight turn radius & good gears for climbing. The house is well furnished with glasses, but could use some more plates to get 6 adults through an entire day of dining at home. There are a lot of stairs and varying levels in the house as well as a note of caution for small children or those with mobility issues. Drumnadrochit is a lovely little town with lots to offer a vacationer. Fiddler's & The Loch Ness Inn were both enjoyed by our party. We made a day run ups to the Isle of Skye, down to Dalwhinnie & over the Malt Whisky Trail. My favorite spot of all though was right there in the house doing some Nessie watching. If you are up for a nice quiet relaxing vacation I highly recommend Tychat. I can certainly see myself back there many times in the years to come."
