  • Lovely villa and location, not good for physically impaired

"This is a spectacular property backing up to the Alhambra. The house and gardens are lovely, clean, and well managed. Just be warned -- you have to park a good distance away, and the path up to the villa is STEEP, and I'm guessing about 6 flights of stairs. The elderly in our party were really struggling. But as long as you understand that about the location, it's spectacular, lovely, and highly recommended. The kitchen is huge and well equipped. You can have groceries delivered. Beautiful. And it was really a kick to look down from the Alhambra, or across the ravine from the Albacin, and pick out "our" villa."

  • Absolutely awesome!

"We stayed at George and Carmen's apartment in Almunecar for 3 weeks in April. We were thrilled with everything. The apartment was immaculate, and had everything we needed. The kitchen appliances were top notch, perfect for us as we like to cook in most meals. Bathroom and kitchen have been renovated, and very nice. It was nice to have a clothes washing machine, and great back balcony with clothes rack to dry. The beds were very comfortable. Lots of closet space as well. The view was magnificent, we spent a lot of time on the front balcony enjoying the views. There is a very nice swimming pool as well, clean and well maintained. We did not rent a car, and did not feel we needed one. Everything is in walking distance, as well, good transit system. The sea and main town is 15 minutes walking distance. The caretaker Joanna works across the street and was invaluable our first few days helping us out and settle in. The town itself is beautiful and the people are great. We had to use our spanish/english dictionary a lot, but after 3 weeks were getting a good handle on the language. The Municiple Market and the larger grocery store Mercadano had incredible selection of fresh seafood, produce and everything one needs to prepare gourmet meals. The Euro goes a long way for food and wine in comparison to Canadian stores, so even though we had a lousy exchange rate, our money went a long way! We loved it so much, we have already booked this apartment for the same time next year. We highly recommend this apartment to all!"

  • Vista Spectacular

"This compact, yet well equipped, shotgun efficiency packs a powerful delivery as we opened the back door to its hillside terrace facing directly to the Alhambra. Breathtaking is an understatement. Foresake all else and rush to Granada and be swept up in this mystical old city of Albayzin. When Greg says 'no car needed', take his advice as there is no ready motor access. Nearest road accesses are a moderate walk, so be prepared for stairs and stone walkways. All the more to enhance the charm of this splendid hideaway. An absolutely perfect apartment for two close friends or lovers. Not spacious, but a perfect ct rest spot between unimaginable days of visiting the magic of Granada. Oh, and numerous Flamenco caves are only steps away. Enjoy the Albayzin and Sacromonte, slow your pace and live history."

  • Best part of our vacation

"My husband, my two children (8 & 11) and I stayed here for three nights at the beginning of our vacation in Spain. We loved it. Not only is the view spectacular, but the house and patio were perfect for reading, playing cards, splashing around in the small pool (which my kids did at midnight). Things really do shut down in the middle of the afternoon, and we were thrilled because we got to go back to our house and enjoy it. The neighborhood is also great for grabbing pastries or fruit. We enjoyed walking down the hill and along the river by all the cafes and shops to downtown and some amazing food. And we all enjoyed the Alhambra, too."
