Recent Spain property reviews

  • It really is a beautiful Finca.

"We stayed at this beautiful Finca for two weeks in May. It really is a unique place, in a wonderful position. Some of the most stunning scenic coastal drives are just a short drive through the mountains. The property itself feels almost like a little rustic Chateau rather than a villa. There are numerous interesting features and a great choice of different seating areas inside and out. We did find the kitchen a little bit small which is fairly normal in Spain, but it does have everything you need and there is a great outdoor BBQ area as well as a portable BBQ next to the loggia. Plus lots of choice of eating places close by in Esporles and not far away in Palma. A restaurant that we particularly liked was in the town centre of Inca called Romani. We found it when we went to the big market there, although I would avoid market day. There is a much better "Flea" market in Consell every Sunday. If you are into antiques and second hand stuff you will love it. I don't want to say too much more about the property as there are some nice surprises. Look for the two big Koi Carp. We got quite friendly with them! After our two weeks there it felt like home and was rather hard to leave. Oh and lastly the gardens are beautifully maintained and the caretakers are extremely nice, helpful people. The owners too are very easy to communicate with."

Balearic Islands Travel Tips

Balearic Islands Vacation Rentals are Great Properties in a Lovely Year-Round Location

Spain’s Balearic Islands are a group of four islands--Formentera, Ibiza, Mallorca (also referred to as Majorca), and Menorca. Situated off the east coast of mainland Spain, it is blessed with a typically Mediterranean climate. This provides summers that are pleasant with comfortable temperatures and mild dry winters with occasional showers.

There are international airports on both Mallorca and Ibiza, and ferry services from both the smaller islands of Menorca and Formentera. Once at your Balearic Islands accommodation, visitors may choose to hire a car but by far the most popular way to traverse some of the islands is by bike.

Your Balearic Islands Accommodation Offers Stunning Scenery and Great Nightlife

Balearic Islands vacation rentals on Mallorca reside on the largest of the Balearics, with over 200 beaches scattered around island’s 188 miles of coastline. To explore this 60-mile-wide island, there is an excellent train service and extensive bus services; however, the most popular choice for visitors is to hire a car. The two main beaches are the wide sandy bays of Magaluf and Palma Nova. Both are lively areas, great for young people. Further north is the huge bay area of Alcudia which is quieter and family-focused. For secluded beaches, visitors should head to Cala d’Or or Cala Millor. Many beaches are ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving, allowing you to explore the marine life, underwater caves and shipwrecks. Visitors looking to combine the beach and horseback riding should go to Playa de Palma. There are also several world-class golf courses on the island. Day trips around the island make a great alternative to the beach and there are many charming towns and villages along the coast and into the stunning Sierra de Tramuntana Mountains.

The town of San Antonio on Ibiza is renowned as a party area with great nightlife and long white beaches. There is much more to this beautiful island than its party reputation. There are many beautiful secluded villages and hidden beaches to explore. Here, visitors can waterski, hire Jet Skis, learn to windsurf and try parasailing. Younger visitors will enjoy the banana boats and pedalos. It is also a great island for sailing and diving. Dive sites include underwater cliffs, caves and arches. There are also a variety of great golf courses that feature up to 18 holes.

One Vacation but Four Islands to Explore

While staying at Balearic Islands holiday villas, visitors should take an excursion to the island of Menorca. This is a smaller and less developed island of stunning natural beauty; it retains much of its Spanish atmosphere. On this island, visitors will find countless historic sites from prehistoric settlements and burial grounds to stunning medieval architecture. There are also some wonderful museums to enjoy.

The smallest island at just 12 miles long is that of Formentera. It is known as the "last paradise of the Mediterranean" because of its unspoiled and undeveloped landscape. A ferry trip to Formentera is a must when visiting your Balearic Islands accommodation. The beaches feature perfectly white sand and warm blue seas where visitors can easily find a secluded spot to relax and swim. It is also a popular diving area where the waters to the north are preserved as the Ses Salinas Nature Reserve. For those seeking activities, the island is excellent for lake-based windsurfing and parasailing.

Balearic Islands holiday villas are idyllic properties based on several of these beautiful islands. Each is individually owned and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay.
