"When I first visited Mallorca with the US Navy 15 years ago, I knew that I would someday bring my family back to this wonderful island that is a magical mix of Maui and Madrid. Our dreams were fulfilled this year, and Son Viguet made it undeniably perfect. From the moment we drove up to the finca we knew it was going to be an absolutely wonderful place to spend relaxing time with the family. Between the magnificent 360-degree views of the mountains and the sea; the sun drenched pool deck; the magnificent accommodations … we could have spent all of our time at the manor. Five stars doesn’t do Son Viguet justice … We all would give 10/50/100 stars if we could. We brought an extended family to Mallorca including cousins and in-laws ranging in age from 15-65, and everyone could spread out, while all had the same reaction … “WOW!!!” Hamish is the perfect host. Friendly, knowledgeable and extremely proud of his family’s home in Mallorca. He has a superb staff that takes care of the finca … Cindy and Frankie welcomed us on our first day and they felt just like family. Hamish recommended Robin to lead the family on a hike through the countryside …Robin is probably used to more challenging hikes, but he came up with the perfect trek along the sea on an abandoned army base. If there were a downside, it would be that we didn’t have time to do everything we wanted. Our 15 year old suggested that our next visit to Son Viguet be a month long. In literature Shangri La is an earthly paradise — a permanently happy land, where one can retreat from the pressures of the modern world. I would say that we have found it in the Tramuntana Mountains overlooking Andratx and Port Andratx. Some tips: •We used our Visa card to pay both the initial payment and final payment, and the process worked without a hitch. •We loved Meson Con Paco in Sa Coma on the road up to Son Viguet. We vowed that we would not eat at the same place more than once … We ate there three times. •Hamish has a big book of suggestions which recommended the beach at Sant Elm. The beach is relatively small, but the water was pristine. There were also great places to eat/shop nearby. •There is a supermarket close to the finca in Andratx, and it had everything. •Be sure to visit theSanta Catarina wine bodega near Son Viguet. Great setting, friendly staff, superb wine. •Some great restaurants: - Port Blanc in Palma - Can Pep in Port Andratx - Trespais in Port Andratx. The best restaurant we found."
