There are two airports you can use to get to the city of Murcia. The closest airport is a small regional airport called Murcia San Javier Airport. It is primarily a military base but in recent years has become the landing destination for low cost commercial airlines from the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe. The airport is 17 kilometers south of Murcia and taxis provide transport into the city. The other commercial airport is in Alicante which is 75 kilometers north of Murcia.
