  • Wonderful! (except for two things)

"If you read the other reviews, you will get the idea. This place is great. Denise also provided us with tourist cards that allowed us to ride the train to Interlaken and back for free and that gave us some discounts on some things. There were two fry pans, so that has been remedied. The two things I would like to see changed are: 1. There is no microwave. One of the reasons to get an apartment is to do your own cooking, but the lack of a microwave makes it a little harder and definitely harder to warm up leftovers. While that might not sound like much, I think it is something. 2. The bed does not have a top sheet. This means your face is directly on the cover, where other peoples' faces have been. Overall, though, this apartment was wonderful."

  • Amazingly serene...

"My husband and I travelled to Kandersteg at the invitation of our good friends from Minnesota. They had come here many times and stayed at Pam and Bill's lovely and serene Adams Alpine Eden. They told is we would love it and they were right. I have read many of the other reviews and agree whole heartedly. The word that comes to mind for me is 'serene'. The apartment is so quiet and so well insulated that we never had to turn the heat on while we were here during the first two weeks of October. You had all the ambiance of a small Swiss village with the convenience of a train station within a five minute walk of the apartment. One last thing that impressed my husband and I was the warmth and friendliness of Pam and Bill. Their door was always open as we would pass by going in or coming out. Even though Bill had some health issues while we were here, Pam was more than helpful and always asking us about how our day went. We even dined together one evening at her first floor home and had a great night of conversation. I would highly recommend the Adams Alpine Eden for anyone in search of the ultimate Swiss experience."

Four Valleys Ski Area Travel Tips

All Season Fun and Activities at Four Valleys Vacation Rentals

The Four Valleys area is one of Switzerland’s premier winter skiing destinations. It incorporates the towns of Verbier, Bruson, Evolene, La Tzoumaz, Siviez, Nendaz, Thyon les Collons, and Veysonnaz. When staying in the Four Valleys, you will have access to 192 individual ski runs of varying levels. In total, you can enjoy 412 kilometers of downhill skiing and snowboarding. There are 92 ski lifts providing access to the mountains, and most of the ski runs are higher than 2,500 meters. This ensures good snow conditions throughout the season. The majority of runs are intermediate and advanced so it suits more experienced skiers. There are also a number of challenging off piste options. Ski schools help novices find their feet on the slopes, and kids' clubs ensure the youngsters have loads of snow fun. There are numerous other activities such as tobogganing, snowshoeing, alpine hiking and cross country skiing available.

In the summer months, the area is transformed into a lush green wonderland, complete with wildflowers and berry bushes. Hiking trails abound and there are several challenging day hikes which take you up close to the peaks. Mountain bikers can choose from hundreds of kilometers of trails that ascend the mountains and traverse the valleys. Riding is challenging and can be technical in places but for the enthusiastic mountain biker, the terrain is perfect. The main international hub for accessing the Four Valleys area is Geneva. Geneva International Airport hosts a wide range of international and regional airlines. There are daily scheduled flights that operate from other cities in Europe, as well as in North America. If you can’t find a direct flight, you may consider routing via Frankfurt, Zurich, Paris or London. Geneva is approximately a two-hour drive from the Four Valleys.
