Rail is possibly one of the most convenient ways to get into the city as you do not then have to worry about traffic congestion. Within the city of Geneva, there is a tram system that provides regular public transport. A local boat company provides transfers between the two banks of Lake Geneva. If you would like to go on a more leisurely excursion on the lake, you can travel on a vintage paddle steamer.
