  • great place!

"Silvio was incredibly helpful and friendly and made sure we knew everything we needed to know before we arrived, he even arranged to have us picked up from the airport! The apartment is in a great location, the road outside is quite busy but you can't really hear it with the balcony window closed. It's close to everything, the Vatican is a few minutes walk away and we walked everywhere all week. I'd highly recommend staying here, Silvio's apartment is an excellent base to explore Rome from!"

  • sejour a Bonifacio

  • Terrific apartment in Paris!

"This is our first time renting through VRBO in Europe however, we have used VRBO several times in the states. Our experience was smooth and easy. The apartment is in a terrific location near the sites, but off the beaten path enough for a quiet evening with local charm. Everything we needed was available and just as the owner has described. We were very comfortable and would return. One note of caution for those who have trouble with steps, understand there are two short flights of steps, it wasn't an issue for us,(in our 50's, who work out regularly.) Though carrying luggage up the stairs took a bit of effort. I suggest packing light! Restaurants near by are delicious, and yes so is the ice cream on the corner. The grocery store is close and well stocked. I think our favorite part is strolling a short distance to the bridge at night and seeing Notre Dame and the Eiffel tower lit up! Just beautiful!"

My husband and I stayed for a month on rue de Sèvres. Since over 10 years, we have been renting apartments in France and particularly in Paris, but I must say we fell under the spell of this one! It stood out by its brightness and its panoramic view over fantastic sunsets! Paris, for us, means getting access to very nice gardens (jardins du Luxembourg, Catherine Labouré...), strolling in a neighbourhood that is as beautiful as it is safe, and getting close to Saint-Ignace church. Nothing is ordinary when you live so close to La grande Épicerie de Paris and the Bon Marché! To top it off, young Adéline welcomed us with much courtesy. It really helped to have such a responsible person available on-site. We really look forward to returning again. Marie-Geneviève de Québec, Canada"

Turkey Travel Tips

Seasons to Visit Turkey Vacation Rentals

In general, Turkey is a destination that can be visited all times of the year. There is a wide variety of attractions for visitors with a diverse range of interests. For those who plan on visiting Turkey’s beaches, the summer months are best. June and July are the hottest months of the year and often also the busiest tourist season. For those who want to combine sightseeing with enjoying some relaxation in the sun, the springtime is a good time of year to visit. The temperatures are a little milder and the countryside is particularly beautiful. Also since it's outside of the peak travel season, you can enjoy not having to line up at major tourist sites. For those who have an interest in cultural sightseeing, autumn is another good time of year to visit. Even though the days are shorter, the temperatures are still warm and mild. The season runs from September through October.

Visitors to Turkey Apartments

Turkey is still a relatively affordable travel destination and easily accessible from Europe and other parts of the globe. It is a modern country that is easy to get around in, making independent traveling both possible and pleasant. Turkey is a nation that has a diverse and interesting history. Many of the country’s attractions are ancient sites and ruins that tell the tales of the rise and fall of many empires. Museums showcase different aspects of the country’s culture and history. People who have an interest in this can enjoy browsing the artifacts and exhibits. Turkey is a great place if you enjoy markets. They are integral to the culture and the markets stock everything from food to carpets and household goods. You can enjoy bargaining for an item that catches your eye and browsing the many stalls at leisure.

Turkey Travel Attractions

Istanbul is a city of mosques, palaces and treasures of old. The historic old part of the city has several ancient and architecturally beautiful buildings. Several parts of the city are more modernized which give it a great cosmopolitan feel. There are many museums, baths and historic sites to visit. The Grand Bazaar and Spice Market are well worth a visit if you enjoy bargaining for items. The Hippodrome is another of Instanbul’s landmark attractions. Many of the magnificent old palaces are now museums and can be visited.

Turkey’s coastline is a place that can be explored in many ways. Trekking tours follow the coastline, stopping in at towns and villages along the way. Bus and train trips frequently follow this route. For those who enjoy sailing, you can explore the coast by cruising along it on a yacht. Private charters can be easily arranged and are a great vacation option for a group of friends. There are many beautiful beaches along the coast that attract sun lovers during the warmer summer months.

Getting to Turkey

There are four main international airports providing access to Turkey. If you are traveling from North America, it is most likely that you will fly into Attaturrk International Airport in Istanbul. From there, you can get a domestic flight on to your vacation destination. Other international airports are located in Sabiha Gokcen outside of Istanbul as well as in Izimir and Ankara, the country’s capital. If you cannot find a direct flight to Turkey from your home, you may consider looking into flights to any one of the major European air hubs. From there, you could get a regional flight or travel overland by road or rail to Turkey.
