  • Great in every way......Santa Rosa Ca

"This historical home was beyond our expectations. Such attention to detail in every room. The beds were very comfortable with luxury bedding. The home was immaculate and the owner was very accommodating. The grounds are large and beautiful. It is also located 2 blocks from downtown and great restaurants. Definitely coming back"

  • Serenity now :)

"Visited for "girls" week with my sister and adult daughter. Beth has decorated the condo beautifully with the cottage feel we love. She has given us new decorating ideas to bring home! Everything was so clean and convenient-no need to run out the first day and stock up on everything so we could function. We have been to the Destin area at least ten times and this was definitely the best condo we have rented. Highest quality of everything-even a Keurig personal coffee maker! The view from the deck is so calm and relaxing it was just what we needed to rejuvenate from our hectic, stressed-filled lives :)! We definitely are going to try and return next summer! Thanks for your hospitality, Beth!"

  • Awesome House for the week!

"This was our 2nd time on Martha's Vineyard and our 1st with our kids 11 and 14 years old. We usually stay in hotels but figured renting a house for the week would be better, it would give us some much needed quality time and privacy with also had liked being close to all the action. We found that with Jackie's house we got it. The house was a great location close to Edgartown and South Beach. we would Bike all around the local area. The weather was perfect we didn't even need the air conditioners at all. The Outside Shower was another huge bonus. Jackie was also great with giving us recommendations for restaurants and activities. Jackie was also great with quick response to any questions or concerns we had as well. When we come back will definitely want to stay there again."

  • Perfect Place

"We stayed 3 nights at Yellow Cottage in the end of August. This place is like a little slice of heaven. It was perfect for 2 couples. The setting is absolutely gorgeous. The cottage is bright and welcoming. I love the farmhouse kitchen. It had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed kayaking on Harness Creek. The neighborhood was great for evening walks and the location is only a 10 minute drive into Annapolis. Rhonda was very helpful about things to do, restaurants etc. and she made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely stay at Yellow Cottage again."

Top United Kingdom Travel Attractions and Activities

The United Kingdom is made up of four separate countries -- England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Each of these regions has its own wealth of attractions but there are a few things that they have in common. Throughout the UK, you will find ancient castles and ruins of former fortresses. Each of these has its own unique tale to tell. Many of the castles are still in use today, either as royal residences, museums or boutique hotels. Scotland and Northern Ireland in particular are known for their impressive and ancient castles.

The UK is a popular golfing destination; Northern Ireland and Scotland rank as two of the best golfing destinations. There is the famous St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland where leading PGA tournaments are played each year. There are literally hundreds of other golf courses to choose from. In the cities, such as London and Edinburgh, there are many historical sites to visit. As the nation's capital London has a rich and detailed history. Here you can see the famous attractions of Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and the London Tower Bridge. There is also the famous museum of waxworks called Madam Tussaud's where you can see famous personalities from around the world immortalized in wax.

Seasons to Visit the United Kingdom

The weather of the United Kingdom is characterized by rain, and a lot of it. The advantage of this is that the rural landscapes are perpetually green and very scenic. Winters are generally quite long and in the central and northern regions, snowfalls are not uncommon. Winter starts from mid-October and generally lasts until the end of April. Spring and autumn are usually quite short-lived. Summer is from June to August and daytime temperatures can get quite hot. On a sunny day, especially if it is on the weekend, you will see many of the locals out and about making the most of the good weather. Summertime is traditionally the peak tourist season and major tourist attractions can get very crowded. If you are willing to travel out of season and possible put up with a little bit of bad weather, you can benefit from some great travel deals.
