  • Heaven on Earth !!!

"Hi Jimbo! Thank you for providing such a perfect place to take a real vacation - I couldn't have asked for anything more! The house is very clean and inviting - I love the two fireplaces and the beautiful furniture! The farm house has such great character both inside and out and I felt so comfortable and relaxed while I was there. The land is so beautifully manicured - It is amazing for such a large property! I enjoyed feeding the fish in the beautiful lake and sitting on the wooden swing to watch the sunset. I can make one trip into town to buy groceries and then stay on the property for an entire week without leaving! The hiking trails are amazing and the views from everywhere on your property are the best ever! I appreciate that you check in on us to ensure that everything is OK. I will recommend this perfect vacation spot to everyone I know- It doesn't get better than Jimbo's Farm! Kathi and Nica"

  • Very cool apartment in an even cooler location. Highly recommend this apartment for families. Great!

"The apartment was perfect for our family. The kids played Tennis and Bocche at one of the many playgrounds and courts that are located on the property. My wife and i got some exercise walking around the track with a beautiful fountain. Although the apartment was a bit small for a family of six it was comfortable for sleeping. It was also comfortable enough the day it was freezing rain and we stayed in and watched movies and cooked in. The apartment was very clean and super quiet. Our caretaker was very friendly and accommodating. We absolutely recommend renting this apartment."

Top United Kingdom Travel Attractions and Activities

The United Kingdom is made up of four separate countries -- England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Each of these regions has its own wealth of attractions but there are a few things that they have in common. Throughout the UK, you will find ancient castles and ruins of former fortresses. Each of these has its own unique tale to tell. Many of the castles are still in use today, either as royal residences, museums or boutique hotels. Scotland and Northern Ireland in particular are known for their impressive and ancient castles.

The UK is a popular golfing destination; Northern Ireland and Scotland rank as two of the best golfing destinations. There is the famous St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland where leading PGA tournaments are played each year. There are literally hundreds of other golf courses to choose from. In the cities, such as London and Edinburgh, there are many historical sites to visit. As the nation's capital London has a rich and detailed history. Here you can see the famous attractions of Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and the London Tower Bridge. There is also the famous museum of waxworks called Madam Tussaud's where you can see famous personalities from around the world immortalized in wax.

Seasons to Visit the United Kingdom

The weather of the United Kingdom is characterized by rain, and a lot of it. The advantage of this is that the rural landscapes are perpetually green and very scenic. Winters are generally quite long and in the central and northern regions, snowfalls are not uncommon. Winter starts from mid-October and generally lasts until the end of April. Spring and autumn are usually quite short-lived. Summer is from June to August and daytime temperatures can get quite hot. On a sunny day, especially if it is on the weekend, you will see many of the locals out and about making the most of the good weather. Summertime is traditionally the peak tourist season and major tourist attractions can get very crowded. If you are willing to travel out of season and possible put up with a little bit of bad weather, you can benefit from some great travel deals.
