  • Beautiful home, even better view!!

"This is the third time we've rented from Peggy and her family - first time at this house. The view was absolutely amazing and the house was just as great. We had five couples visit LP for the weekend and the house was perfect. We cooked dinner Friday night and the kitchen is a chef's dream. It's about a 5 minute drive into town and $14 cab ride - we didn't have a DD one night. All in all Peggy is a pleasure to deal with and we'll be renting again next year."

  • Nice, convenient place to stay

"This was a nice studio with a very convenient location. We never put the murphy bed in the "up" position - no need to. Plenty of space! We did have a few hiccups - when we arrived the condo was still a mess from the previous renters. Turned out the housekeeper had her dates wrong. She quickly sent her sweet daughter over to remedy the situation. We had an issue with the wi-fi, but got it fixed. There were also cockroaches but after speaking with a local, she said that was normal. Overall a great stay. Easy to catch taxis and safaris to town/ferry, etc."

  • Very lovely Casita

"The property is very well kept and everything is at your disposal. The owners have everything that you need to have a great stay; from bed linens, towels ..... No problems. All the appliances worked great, and lots of hot water. It was nice to have washer and dryer, dishwasher and internet. We stayed here while our home was being finished. It is only a block away from old town and directly across the street is a wonderful park. Thank you Robert for your hospitality!!"

  • Perfect and lovely beach getaway

"This was our second time staying in the Nedonna Shores area of Rockaway Beach, and our first time at Nedonna Views. Hopefully it's only the first of many visits! The condo is a lovely and tastefully appointed space; clean, modern, and full of nice touches like radiant heat flooring, indulgent sheets, and plenty of extra towels. It's situated in a great area of Rockaway Beach, with no neighbors to the north leaving plenty of quiet beach space on which to roam. The rear of the building (and the unit) is close to Hwy 101, but the view from the front windows makes you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere: just trees, sand, and the ocean. The beds were very comfortable, the huge couch is perfect for lounging, and the bathrooms are nice enough to make you feel pampered (huge glassed-in showers and a large soaking tub in the master bath as well). The kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need, including an assortment of decent cookware and the important little things like a corkscrew and can opener. Everything was clean and well-prepared for our stay, and management was speedy and immediate in response at every point (pre- and during). A big plus for anyone with accessibility concerns: there is an elevator that takes you right to the unit, so you don't have to navigate stairs at all to get in. We are already trying to plan our next visit; I prefer staying in uncluttered, more modern-feeling environs and that can be hard to find at the beach. This is perfect for one or two couples, since the bathrooms make sharing space easier. Our dog had a great time not only running on the beach but looking out the floor-to-ceiling window the rest of the time. I'd highly recommend this property!"

In Wales, Swansea is the main travel hub. The United Kingdom has several ferry routes that connect with mainland Europe and countries such as France, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark and Norway.

Top United Kingdom Travel Attractions and Activities

The United Kingdom is made up of four separate countries -- England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Each of these regions has its own wealth of attractions but there are a few things that they have in common. Throughout the UK, you will find ancient castles and ruins of former fortresses. Each of these has its own unique tale to tell. Many of the castles are still in use today, either as royal residences, museums or boutique hotels. Scotland and Northern Ireland in particular are known for their impressive and ancient castles.

The UK is a popular golfing destination; Northern Ireland and Scotland rank as two of the best golfing destinations. There is the famous St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland where leading PGA tournaments are played each year. There are literally hundreds of other golf courses to choose from. In the cities, such as London and Edinburgh, there are many historical sites to visit. As the nation's capital London has a rich and detailed history. Here you can see the famous attractions of Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and the London Tower Bridge. There is also the famous museum of waxworks called Madam Tussaud's where you can see famous personalities from around the world immortalized in wax.

Seasons to Visit the United Kingdom

The weather of the United Kingdom is characterized by rain, and a lot of it. The advantage of this is that the rural landscapes are perpetually green and very scenic. Winters are generally quite long and in the central and northern regions, snowfalls are not uncommon. Winter starts from mid-October and generally lasts until the end of April. Spring and autumn are usually quite short-lived. Summer is from June to August and daytime temperatures can get quite hot. On a sunny day, especially if it is on the weekend, you will see many of the locals out and about making the most of the good weather. Summertime is traditionally the peak tourist season and major tourist attractions can get very crowded. If you are willing to travel out of season and possible put up with a little bit of bad weather, you can benefit from some great travel deals.
