  • Charming!

"When I imagined staying in a quaint little town this place is was what I envisioned! It is centrally located in the heart of Arles. This kitchen is, by far, the largest kitchen we’ve seen in Europe. The kitchen is large enough, and equipped, to cook a meal from all the goodies we bought at the Saturday Farmers’ Market (make sure you go). There is a large living room and each bedroom has its own bathroom. Owners are very friendly and accommodating."

  • Amazing Weekend!

"Thomas and Micki have a great home with a gorgeous view! The house was very spacious for a group of 10 men on a weekend get away. The swing on the boat dock was a great place to have a cocktail while watching the sunset. Highly recommend staying here!"

  • Excellent Vacation Getaway Choice!

"Our family spent Christmas 2013 at "The Mariah". The cabin was perfect for our stay. The owner was wonderful, and very friendly. Everything we expected and more!"

  • Bear Paw

"This cabin was more than we expected. From the warm lights as we pulled in, to the inviting fireplace and the lit Christmas tree. This was "home away from home" and has everything you need. The location makes it great for excursions into the Springs or into the mountains, and modern amenities are only minutes away. A great breakfast at The Pantry is a short walk away, past the pond full of waterfowl and a charming gazebo. Bear Paw made my return trip home, after so many years away, all the more pleasant. I would recommend Bear Paw to couples and families alike. The property was clean, properly maintained, and ready to make your trip all the worth while."

The United Kingdom is made up of four separate countries -- England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Each of these regions has its own wealth of attractions but there are a few things that they have in common. Throughout the UK, you will find ancient castles and ruins of former fortresses. Each of these has its own unique tale to tell. Many of the castles are still in use today, either as royal residences, museums or boutique hotels. Scotland and Northern Ireland in particular are known for their impressive and ancient castles.

The UK is a popular golfing destination; Northern Ireland and Scotland rank as two of the best golfing destinations. There is the famous St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland where leading PGA tournaments are played each year. There are literally hundreds of other golf courses to choose from. In the cities, such as London and Edinburgh, there are many historical sites to visit. As the nation's capital London has a rich and detailed history. Here you can see the famous attractions of Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and the London Tower Bridge. There is also the famous museum of waxworks called Madam Tussaud's where you can see famous personalities from around the world immortalized in wax.

Seasons to Visit the United Kingdom

The weather of the United Kingdom is characterized by rain, and a lot of it. The advantage of this is that the rural landscapes are perpetually green and very scenic. Winters are generally quite long and in the central and northern regions, snowfalls are not uncommon. Winter starts from mid-October and generally lasts until the end of April. Spring and autumn are usually quite short-lived. Summer is from June to August and daytime temperatures can get quite hot. On a sunny day, especially if it is on the weekend, you will see many of the locals out and about making the most of the good weather. Summertime is traditionally the peak tourist season and major tourist attractions can get very crowded. If you are willing to travel out of season and possible put up with a little bit of bad weather, you can benefit from some great travel deals.
