  • Perfect Beach Vacation

"My family has been going to Pacific Beach on many occasions and have been eyeing this place for years. We finally spent a week there and absolutely loved it. We stayed upstairs and the view of the ocean is priceless. It's very spacious and clean. The other guests were very friendly and we enjoyed each others company on the biggest front patio on the boardwalk. We will be going back for years to come."

  • Great little cottage at the beach

"Stayed at Vitamin Sea for a weekend with our CofC student and our adult children. This cottage was perfect for our visit. You can sit on front screened porch and hear the ocean or sit outside on the very large back deck for more sunshine. Very short walk to beach. The house is pet friendly so we took our beagle which was fun for whole family. Cottage is clean, adequately stocked with basics in kitchen and has so much charm! Would highly recommend Taco Boy and Lost Dog Cafe....take the dog too!"

  • Lovely Place

"We have spent two weeks at this lovely place,we,couple with 2 kids 15 and 17 years old.All was well prepared and clean, Richard, the facility manager of a nearby condo building, was right on spot when needed for little problems. Finacial transaction without problems, the deposit paid back quickly. Because of flight changes for our flight back to Germany we had to stay one more night, even that was handled without problems via email to the owner. Really, just 50 meters to clean and gorgeous Madeira beaches,we loved it all over. Thank you, we'll be back next year."

  • Great house close to downtown

"Pros: -very clean! Lots of cleaning supplies to clean yourself (we stayed for a month, so this was important) -wine, sparkling wine and muffins left for us by Janet (the home owner) -kitchen is stocked with all that you need to cook if you'd like - a short walk to (6 blocks to main street (3rd street), 3 blocks to the park -there are games, books, foosball and Netflix if you need it for the kids -keyless entry - no keys, that was convenient -check in and check out process was very easy -Janet is very responsive if you need something"

Top United Kingdom Travel Attractions and Activities

The United Kingdom is made up of four separate countries -- England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Each of these regions has its own wealth of attractions but there are a few things that they have in common. Throughout the UK, you will find ancient castles and ruins of former fortresses. Each of these has its own unique tale to tell. Many of the castles are still in use today, either as royal residences, museums or boutique hotels. Scotland and Northern Ireland in particular are known for their impressive and ancient castles.

The UK is a popular golfing destination; Northern Ireland and Scotland rank as two of the best golfing destinations. There is the famous St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland where leading PGA tournaments are played each year. There are literally hundreds of other golf courses to choose from. In the cities, such as London and Edinburgh, there are many historical sites to visit. As the nation's capital London has a rich and detailed history. Here you can see the famous attractions of Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and the London Tower Bridge. There is also the famous museum of waxworks called Madam Tussaud's where you can see famous personalities from around the world immortalized in wax.

Seasons to Visit the United Kingdom

The weather of the United Kingdom is characterized by rain, and a lot of it. The advantage of this is that the rural landscapes are perpetually green and very scenic. Winters are generally quite long and in the central and northern regions, snowfalls are not uncommon. Winter starts from mid-October and generally lasts until the end of April. Spring and autumn are usually quite short-lived. Summer is from June to August and daytime temperatures can get quite hot. On a sunny day, especially if it is on the weekend, you will see many of the locals out and about making the most of the good weather. Summertime is traditionally the peak tourist season and major tourist attractions can get very crowded. If you are willing to travel out of season and possible put up with a little bit of bad weather, you can benefit from some great travel deals.
