  • end of summer stay

"We had a wonderful stay at the cottage in Flagstaff. The beds, couch and chairs were very comfortable. The bathroom is cozy nice with a tub and shower. We loved that the showerhead has a push button flow control. I liked being able to eat our meals in the kitchen, dining room or outside on the patio. Especially the patio, which was extremely pleasant as long as it wasn’t raining. In the extra bedroom, I could watch Direct TV, DVDs or use my iPad. It was wonderful to be able to walk to Buffalo Park, which was only 20 minutes on foot. Flagstaff has a great beer trail with lots of breweries and brew pubs. I enjoyed going to the Mother Road brewery as well as the Flagstaff brewery and Lumberyard (Beaver St brewery is great too)."

  • Relax Place

"In a word "PARADISE!" The condo is lovely with all the creature comforts of home, but with all the amenities and views of a 5 star resort. You can relax on the deck, at the pool or take a few steps to the ocean. You can cook in the condo or take a short walk to Las Olas Resort to be pampered. And you are only 1/2 hour from the city of David where you can enjoy shopping and fine restaurants. This is a hidden gem not to be missed. Enid Sachs 12/13"

Top United Kingdom Travel Attractions and Activities

The United Kingdom is made up of four separate countries -- England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Each of these regions has its own wealth of attractions but there are a few things that they have in common. Throughout the UK, you will find ancient castles and ruins of former fortresses. Each of these has its own unique tale to tell. Many of the castles are still in use today, either as royal residences, museums or boutique hotels. Scotland and Northern Ireland in particular are known for their impressive and ancient castles.

The UK is a popular golfing destination; Northern Ireland and Scotland rank as two of the best golfing destinations. There is the famous St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland where leading PGA tournaments are played each year. There are literally hundreds of other golf courses to choose from. In the cities, such as London and Edinburgh, there are many historical sites to visit. As the nation's capital London has a rich and detailed history. Here you can see the famous attractions of Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and the London Tower Bridge. There is also the famous museum of waxworks called Madam Tussaud's where you can see famous personalities from around the world immortalized in wax.

Seasons to Visit the United Kingdom

The weather of the United Kingdom is characterized by rain, and a lot of it. The advantage of this is that the rural landscapes are perpetually green and very scenic. Winters are generally quite long and in the central and northern regions, snowfalls are not uncommon. Winter starts from mid-October and generally lasts until the end of April. Spring and autumn are usually quite short-lived. Summer is from June to August and daytime temperatures can get quite hot. On a sunny day, especially if it is on the weekend, you will see many of the locals out and about making the most of the good weather. Summertime is traditionally the peak tourist season and major tourist attractions can get very crowded. If you are willing to travel out of season and possible put up with a little bit of bad weather, you can benefit from some great travel deals.
