  • Amazing house and location!

"This is a beautiful property! The parking is inclosed on property (open the drive gate wall and pull in!) and it makes it very easy to unload and load the car at the back door. Pulling all the way through you could get two cars in. The first thing we noticed that is not mentioned in the other reviews is once you open up the house the breeze coming through was amazing! The kitchen is beautiful and well equipped and we used it all. We cooked in most nights and it was fantastic! this house has all the amenities of home, Direct TV (master has a new flat screen), living room and one of the bedrooms. What I thought the pictures did not capture was the beautiful tile floors throughout and very nice and wide staircase to the master. 3/4 of the way up the stairs there are large windows looking out at the ocean and another deck off the left side of the house. I think outside of the location the best part of this house is the master bedroom; Stunning! Very large (it would be like a large suite in a nice hotel). It has a set of french doors that lead to an amazing deck that was great for our morning coffee and afternoon happy hour. We spent a lot of time on that deck watching the world go by on the beach. We brought my daughter and her friend, both 15 years old and they loved it and both did not want to leave. The house is everything plus more as the owner Linda states on the site. Although Linda does not mention on the site there were a few perks we took advantage of. One morning we had fresh tamales delivered to us for breakfast and they were awesome. I saw him delivering the day before and asked him if he would deliver to us the following morning. We also had firewood delivered as there is a little fire ring just out front on property in the sand. The beach is very family friendly and you step into the sand right off the main deck. The front area off the deck is like a private yard with a little fire ring, very nice. Horseback riding takes place on this beach and my family all went on a ride. We waved over Ricardo and he brought the horses right to the property line and off they went into the sunset! Once you come back from the beach there is an outside shower area on property with hot and cold water. Clay steps in sand that lead to the shower area. For a day at the beach their are Kayaks (2) beach chairs, lounge chairs for the family. Best of all is Linda the owner. VERY accommodating and is well liked!!! Everyone knows her and speaks very highly of her."

  • Time out in Mexico!

"A group of my friends and I went down for the weekend and had a blast. So much to do and so little time. None of us wanted to leave on Sunday! The home is very affordable and accommodating for a range of people. I am from New Zealand and Las Gaviotas was a nice taste of Mexico! I definitely recommend this house!"

  • Perfect

"We love Baja California and the Mar de Cortez, and this was a fantastic place to stay. In the intertidal zone directly in front of the house, we found three species of brittle star, lots of the multi-rayed sun star, anemones, Mexico sea urchins, Magdalena chitons, at least 5 species of crabs, dozens of Fitch's octopus (many with their eggs), sulphur cucumbers, sand dollars and keyhole sand dollars, and at least 3 species of marine flatworms. Three species of lizards, plentiful praying mantises, a jackrabbit, a couple of unidentified (but cute) rodent species, turkey vultures, osprey, great blue herons, Heermann's gulls, yellow-footed gulls, black-bellied plover, willet, long-billed curlew, at least 3 species of terns, brown pelicans, Le Conte's thrashers, pipits, white-winged doves, double-crested cormorants, magnificent frigatebirds, and Brandt's geese all made appearances near the house. The house itself and the patio are beautiful and very comfortable. We had far more space than we needed, as we expected to be 6 travelers but ended up being 2 adults and 2 kids. My 7- and 9-year-old children had a blast and asked for a return in the fall, perhaps accompanied by grandparents or another small family. The only drawback was the difficulty leaving in order to return to school and work!"
