  • San Felipe Gem

"This "off the grid" house is a four and half day drive from our home in British Columbia and it's well worth the effort. We had a great month, just the two of us and our dog. The owners of this house have provided everything you might need in the kitchen or for entertainment and WiFi connection to the outside world. Any queries we made during our stay were quickly and efficiently dealt with in a most courteous and helpful manner. We look forward to escaping winter weather in 2015 and return to this campo once again. It was a great month for all three of us!"

  • Home away from home and much more!!!

"Wow, if you want t enjoy a few days of Vacation, consider this beautiful house, and just pack your clothes, food, sunscreen and beverages, you won't need nothing else. Perfectly located away from the crowded Downtown San Felipe, very quiet, clean, safe community, two pools that are maintained daily, big guest house, tennis court, basketball. Awesome palapas, and aside from the fully furnished home, one of the BEST beaches in SF. I have rented this house twice before and probably will a few others, can't beat the price for tranquility, cleanliness and feeling safe. highly recommended."

  • First Visit To San Felipe

"This was one great vacation!!!!!! The house was all we expected. There was two couples and with the split bedroom plan it worked out great. The roof top deck we spent a lot of time on. Great views of the Sea and of the mountains. We brought our ATVs. There were a lot of places to ride them. Up and down the beach. With the garage to store them it was nice not to worry about them. Even though the subdivision is really a safe and secured. Place. When you are there take advantage to the flea market across the street next to the Pmex on Saturday mornings from 7-11. Great place to pick up your fruits and vegetables. We also enjoyed down the street the Parrot Cracker. It is a great place to eat and have an afternoon drink. We got a lot of information from them. Great people stop in and ask questions. They will have answers. The clams there are cheap big and meaty. Ina was a great property manager. One day he brought us some home made bread he makes and it was good. Hopefully he will bring you one. We would do it all over again. Thanks David for renting your house to us. You made the process easy."

  • Great vacation home and great hosts

"I have been coming to San Felipe for the last 7 years. This time I took the my whole family ( 6 adults, 2 year old grandson, and 2 dogs). The house is exceptionally equipped and comfortable. Very comfortable beds ( best in San Felipe so far) , great bathrooms, and great kitchen. Also every room has great air conditioners and each has its own TV ( It gets over 100 during the day in San Felipe on some the summer days). Beach front access with sand patio ( great for the dogs) and very secure. Fully equipped so no need to bring too much stuff. I personally got to interact with Robert and Phyllis and they are great people ready to help with anything you may need and answer every question you may have. Best ocean front vacation home in San Felipe so far. We are coming back!!!"

San Felipe Travel Tips

Getting to San Felipe Vacation Houses

While San Felipe has an international airport, no commercial flights currently operate from it. The airport is open for charter flights and as many as 20 flights land a day. Most visitors come from Southern California and drive the five hours from San Diego down via Mexicali to San Felipe. If you are traveling from other parts of North America or Europe then your closest commercial airport will be in San Diego. From there, you can hire a car and drive the remaining distance to San Felipe. A regular bus service operates between Tijuana and San Felipe and is the only mode of public transport available.

Visitors to San Felipe Beach Houses

San Felipe tends towards a leisurely pace. It’s a great place to come, relax and simply get away from busy corporate life. There is a growing population of retirees in San Felipe who are attracted by the warm climate and relaxed atmosphere of the town. If you like to take leisurely strolls on the beach and enjoy sailing or boating then you will have a great stay in San Felipe. It’s a welcome change from busy resort-type towns, even though the city still receives a steady stream of tourists year-round.

Things to Do near San Felipe Resorts

Most people enjoy doing as little as possible during their vacation in San Felipe; however, the warm ocean provides the perfect place for a wide range of activities. Boating is a popular pastime and there is a launch ramp that can be used at the harbor. Moorings can be arranged if you will be staying for an extended period. There are no crane facilities so only smaller boats can be launched on the slip. Many larger yachts sail south from San Diego and the vision is that the Baja Peninsula can become a popular destination for yachtsmen from North America. There are several sailing regattas that take place in season.

Take a drive south from San Felipe and visit the geothermal springs in the small retirement community of Puertecitos. The springs are located right on the rocky shoreline and often too hot to sit in unless the tidal waters are high enough to cool the spring water down. If you do find the temperature moderate enough, the pools are wonderfully relaxing.

The miles of white sandy beaches are perfect for beachcombing and leisurely strolls. Occasionally, you can come across a beach bar where you can enjoy a drink and light meal while looking out over the ocean. The town of San Felipe has a strong shrimp fishing heritage and many of the local restaurants still serve a wide range of delicious seafood on their menus. Dining out is a great experience. A festive atmosphere, good food and plenty of drink are usually the order of the day.

Seasons to Visit Baja California Norte Vacation Rentals

San Felipe enjoys a warm year-round climate, not unlike Miami. The summer months are hot and humid and the winter months are warm and dry. During October to March, you can expect clear sunny skies with moderate temperatures of around 60 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. In January, the occasional storm blows south from California. Most of the rainfall occurs in the humid summer season. August and September generally record the highest rainfall levels as tropical storms blow across the Pacific Ocean. The rain showers accompanying the hurricanes tend to be intense and short-lived, and these tropical storms usually only occur once or twice a year. For the majority of the year, you can enjoy sunshine and a laid-back atmosphere.
