"The condo is facing the sea, not the highway. It's only from the bathroom that you can hear the cars on the highway. Otherwise, the property was nearly empty of tenants and very quiet and peaceful. Beaches are mostly empty as the sea is not for swimming in the area. The space is nicely appointed with a large sofa, flat panel TV, beautiful views of the sea from the living room and kitchen. The condo comes with the full amenities including a new dishwasher and a washer/dryer. It also has central air (which is really important for 100 degree days). At that time, one of the pools was working, the other pool and hot tub were still in repair, the owner let me know in advance of this.
The owner, Ling, goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay. Not only is she patient with answering any questions, but she also sends along an email with attachments of maps of the area, restaurant suggestions, renting a car and about the location. The property manager, Peter, was already waiting there when I arrived. He can show you where to dispose of garbage, recycling, etc...His girlfriend made a welcome package with brownies and packets of cappuccino mix. :) I was surprised there was only 2 roles of toilet paper (for 8 days) and no paper towels. By the next morning, Ling had arranged for Peter to provide those for me. She also followed up during my stay to ensure I was happy and comfortable with everything. I've had great rentals and not so great rentals before, 404B was a great rental with a very caring owner. It was as Ling felt responsible for ensuring I had a great vacation. I was there to surf, so the location was ideal, as it's located in front of Zippers.
There is construction work around the property. Since it's so hot during the day, I had the windows closed and the construction work caused minimal, if any, disruption. There is a small bodega withing walking distance of the resort. Getting to the large grocery store, Mega, is best reached by taxi (arranged by the security guard ~$7) or walking along the beach (20 minutes). Walking on the road to Mega, is at best, terrifying as there is only a small shoulder to walk on, and cars and trucks barrel down the road at high speeds. At this time, the exchange rate was 18 pesos = $1, taxis wanted USD, so I'd recommend bringing small bills if you plan on using a lot of taxis."
