  • Serenity Now!

"In a family of 20 people (ranging in age 6 months to 76 yrs), it may be hard to find some serenity now. But don't worry because you can find it in Casa Buena Vida. Our main activities were sitting on the deck reading, watching the Pacific Ocean go by filled with breaching whales, jumping ray fish, fishing boats and cruise ships. Of course this isn't the full list of activites, could it have been the pool table, the bag toss game or the pool and hot tub that were the best thing? But no... was it the beaches near by, late afternoon cocktail cruise or margaritas at Victor's. Or the hills in Pedegral that were great for jogging for all to keep in shape. Was it that every room has a spectacular view of the ocean that was so welcoming you felt like you were in your own home. Wrong again. It was definitely David the House Manager/Chef, his outstanding staff and Feliciano the cabana man that made our stay so enjoyable. From the cold beer and Margaritas to the meals that were so perfect. Hand made guacamole, salsa and chips. The beautiful surf and turf dinner for New Year's Eve so well prepared and presented. Our week at Buena Vida exceeded all of my expectations, would go back in a heartbeat. Run, don't walk to the nearest airport and come here!"

  • Magical, Majestic Villa Marcella

"A long postponed stay at Villa Marcella due to cancelled flights after the hurricane and it was worth the wait! The owners were so accommodating in our reschedule even though the Villa itself sustained no damage. From the moment you enter the light filled villa with a 180 view of the ocean, you are relaxed and well taken care of by Adrian and the staff. The rooms each has its own air conditioning control, so all can sleep in comfort. The small fridge in the bedroom was stocked with water, tea and beer at our request. Adrian cooked us gourmet meals each night and shared recipes and cooking techniques. He went almost daily to the fish market and store for fresh finds. His BBQ Jumbo Prawns and Enchiladas were a huge hit but no meal was less than exceptional so leave it to him and you will be happy. His raspberry vinegarette, churros, bananas foster and other specialties were just wonderful. The girls never left the house except a quick trip into town for the Kentucky Derby and some shopping, and the boys had a ball catching a 140lb marlin on the GoDeep boat with Captain Frankie set up by owner, which Adrian then cooked up to perfection. The house is perfectly furnished with lots of comfortable chairs that face the ocean which because of the storm in New Zealand had huge sets of waves we could watch all day. This is not a swimming beach and caution should be noted, don't turn your back on the waves. But it is a nice long, safe, wide walking beach. We decided it was the most reasonably priced luxury vacation we had taken. Other than rent, we paid about $20pp/day in food, Adrian for Cooking and Tip. Recommend contacting Costco and having them pull your items so when you or Adrian arrive, they will just load it for you. No running around the warehouse or waiting in line. Since house at bottom of a hill, good hiking/running was available right outside the door. Bring a espresso pot as they only have a coffee maker but it made great coffee."

  • Terrific View

"We stayed in this wonderful condo in March 2015. The views of the city and Sea of Cortez are terrific and condo offers ample space. The beds are comfortable, couch was newer and great, and the kitchen table is in good shape. The best part of condo was the balcony with the views. The granite in the kitchen is nice. There is an opportunity to improve the kitchen with some updates on coffee maker and some nonglass dishware. The tile floors throughout were nice and in great shape. We liked the location because of the views it offers being up in the hills and access to the incredible neighborhood. The huge homes are great to drive around to see and you can play tennis($15/hour) and best of all you get access to the private neighborhood Pedegral beach. You can also get to the Marina very easily from the condo location. The pool and the grounds for the condo are well kept. The garage for our car was adequate as well. You are in the hills so you will do a bit of walking up and down stairs, but there is an elevator. Donna was great to work with on logistics and recommendations.. We had one issue with a power outage in the condo and Donna was very considerate. We rented a car which was fine for most part but Cabo is confusing to drive in with poor signs and GPS doesn't work well. But if you want to have the freedom to go to the beaches and Walmart etc then renting car is the way to go. But it is expensive in Mexico with the insurance and taxes. I would recommend going to the marina to negotiate a whale watching and Lovers beach visit and you can rent jet skis from Marina. There is no need to reserve these online as you will pay five times more. You can drive to the beaches to snorkel at Santa Maria and Chilleno but the signs from the road for Chilleno are not up so try your GPS. We also really enjoyed the fine dining both in town and also around the Marina. We will definitely come back to Cabo and recommend this condo for the price and location and what it offers."
