  • Not a 5 Star Resort, but awesome location!

""For everything you get, you give something up." WHAT YOU GET: - perfect location with short walk to marina and tons of restaurants - excellent beach with no peddlers and even few travelers - though you can't swim the waves are awesome to watch - just steps to both pools and bar - doesn't matter if you forget something in the room - balconies are great - we loved happy hour watching the sun go down - nice people everywhere including staff and residents - no need to "reserve a chair" at the pool - so great to have less people around vs at the resorts!!! - walk over the mountain to lover's/divorce beach - beautiful views of the ocean without the skidoos! WHAT YOU GIVE UP: - As a Minnesotan, the condo felt more like staying in a "rustic older cabin". Though I understand the Mexican flavor referenced in other reviews, it is just a nice way of saying dated decor. It gave the feeling of not being clean, although it maybe was. - The furniture was not comfortable. After a long day of walking and sun, you want to relax and it was difficult...especially for 4 people. - There were ants on the floor and counter most of the week in both baths. In order to spray the front desk said we needed owner permission. We decided not to risk poison where we brush our teeth so didn't ask - not to mention we were very disconnected due to vacation. It was the most annoying part for sure! - Though AC is not usually needed, we were there during an unusually hot period and wanted the AC the last couple of nights, but it didn't work the last night and be careful about leaving the front door open as there are mosquitos as my husband's arm was bit up. The screen door on the other patio was not repaired so you can't even leave that door open. We were very disappointed that the ants and screen door issues were not addressed per reviews we read. - The fan in the master BR is either on fast or off. Would have been nice to have a middle setting. Not an expensive change. - I wasn't expecting a 4 or 5 star atmosphere, but it was barely a 3 in my opinion. It just is not well maintained or managed. In summary, we loved the location and Cabo again for the 3rd time, but am not sure it is worth giving up the room experience we look for on vacation as well. It's all what you want and it's pretty impossible to have it all...just wanted to put the facts out there so others can choose :)"

  • Great spot

"I would love to give this place zero stars- but only so I didn’t have competition when I was booking again. This place is great. On the sand/beach/throw a rock hit the ocean. It’s not a “swimming beach” unless you are a strong swimmer. On our visit the waves were surfable and people were both surfing and skimboarding. I would say the actual condo is better than the pictures. Had everything we needed. Stopped by the walmart on the way in- mostly for drinks and snacks but kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, plates etc etc. We walked into town everyday, only 10 minutes and always felt safe. The complex has more of a residential feel than resort- for sure. It is very, very quiet, that is what we wanted. We also went next door to Salomar and used their pool and purchased a couple $15 drinks. Sign said guests only, but they didn’t give us a problem. I think if you don’t like this place, likely you are not a huge fan of mexico or you were looking for a party on the beach. This is a relaxing stay and was just about perfect for us."

  • Great stay in Terrasol

"We recently spent a week at Terrasol. We thoroughly enjoyed the location and unit. The location is great if you don't have a car. It is an easy walk to the marina areas which is filled with great places to eat. We decided not to cook for ourselves this trip so didn't need a lot of groceries but were able to get breakfast and lunch type food at the store in the Playa Granda (next door), at the OXXO at the bottom of the hill and from the California Ranch Market (natural food store) across the road from the Wyndham hotel. The unit has a great view of the ocean from the balcony and is a short walk to the heated pool. The Terreasol staff was very friendly and helpful. The hot water in the unit was not working the day we arrived. The staff responded as soon as we called and had a new part installed as soon as possible the next day. We had no issues with the water after that. The unit was well stocked with paper products, dish soap, laundry soap and kitchen basics like coffee filters and plastic bags. The WIFI in the unit worked great and was very fast. The pool WIFI was less reliable, slow at times and needed to be reset several times while we were there. The complex and surrounding area are very safe. There are no vendors on the beach and it felt safe to walk the beach any time of the day. The complex faces directly south so you see the sun from sunrise to sunset (both are great to watch from the Terrasol beach chairs). The pool is not too crowded and everyone we met were friendly. I particularly thought the owners that were there were very friendly even to those us of just renting for the week. Mario and his crew at the pool bar are great. They knew our names and unit numbers by day 2. It is a great place for both breakfast, lunch and of course afternoon cocktails! Terrasol is a very low key place so if you are looking for a party scene, this is not the place (although the party boats were parked of the shore a few different nights and the music played until 4:00am!) We didn't have a bad meal at any restaurant we tried. If you want an upscale dinner close by, try La Roca next door at the Grand Solmar. They have special menus several nights of the week so check before you go. It is a short walk on the beach but much longer if you take the road. Other place we enjoyed in the marina area were La Dolce (Italian just outside the marina); Captian Tony's (pizza in marina); Dos Mares (seafood at the marina at the shopping mall end)."

  • Will definitely stay here again

"Having previously stayed at all of the resorts surrounding this property (Solmar, Finisterra, and Playa Grande), it was so refreshing to go somewhere where you can just arrive, go to your unit, and relax without any timeshare sales pitch before they'll give you your pool towels (Playa Grande), harassing phone calls at 8 AM (Finisterra), or sending you to an already occupied room (Solmar). This unit was very well decorated and any interior damage from the recent hurricane seemed to have been repaired. They were still repairing roofs and other things around the resort, but visible progress was made even during our short 1 week stay. It was an excellent value, and very convenient for people like my wife and I who like to get out and visit our favorite places in Cabo rather than do the boring all-inclusive routine."
