  • La Paz

"The condo we stayed at was very nice and the overall complex was great. We did lose electricity for 24 hours and no AC for a day after the power came back on. It was very hot the whole week due to rain coming in so that was cumbersome. The communication was very vague which made it frustrating. You do have to take a boat ride everytime you want to go to town - so you do have to plan around pick up times shuttle to boat etc. If you are there mainly to relax it would not be a problem."

  • It was Amazing

"The home is perched above the Malecon with spectacular views. The large wall of windows provided unobstructed panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez and La Paz. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and could not have been happier with the accommodations. What a wonderful vacation. Would not hesitate to stay there again."

  • Best family vacation!

"We loved this place and can't wait to return. Everything from the bikes in the unit, the staff at the pool bar, all the special touches this condo has (ie- awesome sheets on beds, games, kid toys, etc) were above and beyond our expectations! The community of La Paz is clean, safe and the people were very hospitable. Don't miss the market for great empinadas and fresh seafood Our only feedback is that the kyack paddles need to be replaced."

"If you are going to La Paz. This is your best option! We flew in to San Jose del Cabo airport and rented a car from Cactus rentals. This a privately owned car rental outfit and they are very easy to deal with. Everything was up front for the rental and they shuttled us from the airport (5 minutes). The road to La Paz is very nice. Take the Todos Santos route ( 19 ). You do have to watch for livestock. We arrived in La Paz and due to poor timing it was dark, so finding the ferry wasnt straightforward. The entrance to the marina is at the north end of the Malecón. This the name for the beachfront strip. Look for Stella's restaurant and you will see the marina's sign. The dock for the ferry is about 50 yards from Stella's following the sidewalk and is the first gate you will come to that goes down on the pier. I wont go into great detail about Hyland's penthouse given all of the other reviews here. Needles to say it exceeded our expectations with an expansive living area and very comfortable kitchen. Shopping is very convenient. From the marina's entrance you go to the stop sign and go right. Several miles down this road you will find a walmart which we used the first time out. It is located right at the intersection of hwy1 and the Transpeninsular road that takes you right to the Malecón. Our local favorite was the CCC market. Look for a large store with a shopping cart on the sign about 2 miles from the marina on the left. Having said this the Chilean chef, and his crew, who is on site at the condos cannot be beat! Careful... the margaritas will sink your ship if not consumed judiciously. :-) The next time we go to La Paz we will be in contact with Hyland!"
