  • Great vacation destination to get away from the hussle and bussle

"Great stay, beautiful home with all the conveniences. We stayed for a week and were very comfortable. If you are looking for night life, go to Cabo, if you are looking for family time, this is a great destination. Mariscos de la Costa on the main road going into La Ribera is a great place to dine, open until 6 PM, closed Wednesday. Quadman in Los Barilles delivered a Rhino for the week and we explored the beach from Los Barilles to Punta Arena. As far as I am concerned this home is the complete package, we'll be back!"

  • More than expected!

"What a great place!!! It is right on the Sea of Cortez. You fall asleep by the sound of the waves, and wake up with the light of the sun. No TV, no wifi. I took the family for our yearly reunion. There were 16 of us...7 adults and 9 grandchildren (ages 23 to 15) We all had a great time. La Ribera is a nice little town with 3 or4 grocery stores for food. We also had two excellent and plentiful meals brought in by a "cooker" recommended by the owner. We snorkeled in Punto Pulmo and hiked to a waterfall near Lamirada. Nothing touristy like Cabo san Lucas or San Jose del Cabo. only wish it were closer!!!"

  • Remote, relaxing place

"My wife and I just returned from a week at the bungalow, and had a great time. The place is a bit set off of the beach, but it is set in a nice canopied palm and scrub forest that gives it a very secluded feel. The beach is just a few hundred meters down the path, and there is only one house on the beach for a mile or so! We encountered only handful of other beach goers in the many walks we took, it is truly remarkable to have miles of white sand beach to yourself. As Josh and other reviewers have said, this is not a place for everyone. You are very isolated, will need to climb the stairs to the sleeping loft, and there is no AC (we were there during the hottest season, and were just fine with fans). Josh was around and easily contacted for supplies or needs, but was never intrusive. You also need to love animals, because there are a lot of them around! The dogs and cats are sweethearts, and really enjoy your company without being needy. We flyfished off the beach in morning, and caught ladyfish and Jack Crevalle, swam and really enjoyed our beach walks. If you like to really get away, and are somewhat self sufficient, you will love this place."
