"Staying in the Villas de Cortez gives you access to the condo pool area and also the Palmas de Cortez pool area but the Palmas people cannot access the condo area. Great first floor condo that is very well kept up. Owner was great to work with and the condo manager Pedro was always around to help out if needed. Everything is stocked here that you would ever need, they even had skewers for the pork kabobs that I made on the gas bbq. You can bring your own drinks to the pool or buy a beer at the pool bar for only $3. Vendors are on the beach if you want to do some shopping but they are not allowed on property and are not pushy at all. It's about 15 steps from your car to the front door. You can book your fishing boat at the Palmas de Cortez and I recommend Captain Raul Montano on the boat El Borracho. Wife had an excellent massage at the Spa for $80."

  • Great spring break with the kids.

"We really enjoyed staying in The Villas de Cortez, they are very clean and cute. Everyone is so nice and Pedro (the Villas manager) is a gem. We were very impressed with the Bay View restaurant at the hotel. They cooked up our Mahi with three different seasonings and it was truly delicious. Our two boys, ages 8 and 9, were never bored and had a great time at the resort's many pools and the beach in front of the hotel. We saw and heard the mobula rays quite a few times in front of the hotel which was a special treat. The location of the unit is nice with a fully functioning elevator available as needed. I would highly recommend this rental."

  • Perfect home for 3 couples

"We rented the whole house for a week with 2 other couples (ages 30-40). Beautiful home, great location, plenty of space. We were luck enough to get the master bedroom/bath. Woke up every morning with the sunrise on our small balcony. Then, either drank coffee on the rooftop deck or on the beach - house is one house away from the beach. The two other couples each had their own rooms and shared a bathroom. The kitchen/dining/living area is separate, so if some wanted to stay up later, the noise was minimal. We spent a lot of time on the rooftop deck in the am and pm. Just a few doors down is the Hotel Spa Buena Vista. Supposedly they have recently started charging $10/day to hang out there, but we were never charged. Just walked in, ordered a drink and snacks... Although, we did not spend much time there. Spent some quality time on the beach and drove a couple times down to 9 Palms (1.5 hours on a mostly dirt road - conditions vary - only one flat tire) to surf. Great spot for intermediate/beginners, depending upon the swell of course. The house is a few miles from Los Barriles, where you pretty much have to go for groceries and dining. We rented a car for the week and it worked out great. Not sure about the bus schedule. Jeff is easy and accommodating. His paddle board was recently broken - not sure if he is going to replace - but you can rent paddle boards in town as well."

"OK, this was our 3rd time staying here so you know we like it. This is a fantastic place to enjoy the real Baja. Being RIGHT on the sand and feet from the water sure makes enjoying life pretty easy. We did have the unfortunate timing of being there during a major hurricane. However, the owners went out of there way to insure our safety and well being during the hurricane and for the many days afterwards when things were just getting somewhat back to normal. We were completely safe behind the storm shutters on the windows and doors during the hurricane. Afterwards, the areas around were without electricity, water, gas/propane etc. for many days, but the owners had a generator going for us at the house the morning after the hurricane and we didn't miss a morning coffee or afternoon frozen margarita while sitting out on the patio. Thanks again for such great care. So,if you like long walks on an uncrowded beach, swimming in warm, clear water right off your private patio then this comfortable home is for you."
