"Just got home from a week long vacation staying in El Zalate in San Jose del Cabo-- What an awesome experience! It started as a girls trip, with my two daughters and two daughter in laws, but then my husband decided he wanted to join us to fish! (the girls are all in their 20's) The airport was filled with Spring breakers, and we were starting to get a little nervous-- but the fears were set a side when we walked into the neat and tidy condo, with it's beautiful view of the ocean! The pools are beautiful, and one of the things that impressed us so much was the cleanliness of everything--The pools and grounds were meticulously cared for, as well as the condo itself. The view was incredible-- we could watch whales from the veranda, and hear the ocean at night. We never felt any of the spring break crowd, and it was so nice! We felt like we belonged to an elite group, that knew a good secret. The location was great, so close to everything that we needed. We explored the east cape, drove to La Paz and swam with the whale sharks, went deep sea fishing, and found our favorite-- the farm to table restaurant and farm called "Flora Farms". Everything they serve is either grown or raised there. The gardens were beautiful, the architecture amazing, and the food and service were incredible! We will definitely visit El Zalate again. Chris was so great to work with, and cared about every detail. I want to share the news, and then part of me wants to keep it a secret!"

"Wonderful family vacation. Just completed a week at Bob's El Zalate vacation home (Aug 7-14), what a wonderful property. We have been traveling to Cabo (both San Jose and Cabo San Lucas) for over 25 years. Over the years we have stayed in time shares, all inclusive, high end villas (Palmilla), Other house/villas (La Jolla, Pedregal), hotels and condos. Based on this experience we believe El Zalate, because of its location, owners and property manager (Nash Group) offer the best value for your vacation. Bob's vacation home is very clean, well appointed and has all the amenities you will need. The spacious deck is just the place to watch the sunset while enjoying a drink of your choice. The owners are very responsive and provide all the information you need for restaurants and things to do. Bob made the rental process very smooth and efficient. Can't say enough nice things about the property managers (the Nash Group), the pool and grounds are well maintained and they go out of their way to accommodate any type of request. Security staff is professional and attentive. Bob, thank you for sharing this wonderful vacation home, we created many happy memories."

"This is a beautiful condominium and wonderful place to stay. The owners have included everything you could possibly need for your vacation from beach chairs to the wonderfully sharp knives (to cut those limes!) I would absolutely stay there again. The outdoor furniture on the lanai is especially comfortable and convenient for a group of people to enjoy the out of doors. love it all!"

"Wow, this condo, location on the beach and the quaint town of San Jose was the best place to turn 40. Myself, husband and 10 year old daughter loved our 9 nights/8days a El Zalate. Les the condo owner went above and beyond on every aspect of booking, replying to emails, providing a well stocked condo, comfy beds, and travel info via email at the condo. The info he provides for the area/places to eat/things to see and do is the best I have ever received when renting a condo. I usually research all of that information on my own but Les made it that much easier for me. El Zalate has been super quiet and relaxing and we would totally stay here again. I even have a few friends that enjoyed seeing our pictures and are talking about booking this condo.
Surfing: We took surfing lessons from Costa Azul Surf Shop--awesome experience! The staff and instructors were top notch. It was our first time surfing and we all rode waves all the way into shore. :)
Snorkeling: We snorkeled at Chileno Bay--brought our own gear from home but Les does have some snorkel gear in the condo. Chileno was great and we saw a ton of fish. We were able to catch the bus right out front of El Zalate to go to Chileno Bay and back. We also went to Playa Santa Maria--the surf was too high to snorkel but the beach is gorgeous. The sand is soft, pink granite. There were a few palapas there for shade too. We took the umbrella that Les has in the condo to Chileno with us--it worked great for some shade. We also used the travel coolers to bring lunch and water to the beach when we were out and about.
Food: Shopped at the Mega twice: 10-15 minute walk from the condo, or you can take the bus. We carried our backpacks with us so carrying the groceries back was easier.
Restaurants: Loved Mama Mia(right next door). Sardina Cantina(right up on the street next to Trader Dick's--fish tacos--YES!) and Las Guacamaya's(Amazing). Feel free to check Trip Advisor Reviews for these places--great reviews. These were our top three places!
We went into downtown San Jose for a shopping day and we ended up taking the Urbano bus(picks up behind the Mega). It's the bus that looks like a school bus and it's the bus that the locals take. It was super fun. All of the busses are inexpensive and easy to use. We took a bus to Cabo for a day too. You can totally rent a car for $25-$30/day but we enjoyed the busses.
AMAZING/WONDERFUL/WARM/WELCOMING! We will miss Mexico!"
