  • Really Sweet Place

"We want to go back. This condo is very well appointed, super comfortable and in a great complex and location. We've stayed in places at all price points in S. Baja and this is a great value. The unit is virtually new, comfortably furnished and very well stocked for cooking. The pools are lovely. The Mega just down the road has such good, fresh food and makes cooking in fun. For surfers, just pick which of the 3 breaks in view from the balcony that looks best to you and walk down to get it (although you have to paddle around the point to get to Old Man's). Had a couple little repair issues during our week long stay, but the property manager was super responsive and was right on it. So many great restaurants in San Jose del Cabo a few minutes drive or cab ride away. Loved it."

  • Would not stay anywhere else in San Jose

"My wife and several of our closest friends just returned and I cannot imagine a more perfect stay in Los Cabos. The house is stunning, the photos don't even do it justice. The four master bedrooms that all have their own bathroom is very unique and hard to find in San Jose and was absolutely perfect. We went with three couples and a friend and the layout was great. There is so much space that it is easy for a large number of people to hang out and never feel cramped, but everyone has their own private place to retire to and relax. The home is wired throughout with speakers and has an ipod/android connection that can be adjusted throughout zones all over the estate. The bedrooms have their own Bose stereos with iPod docks. There is a volleyball court on the beach right outside. I could go on and on. The property managers (a married American couple who couldn't be nicer) are on site in a detached residence and this turned out to be the best thing about this property. You would never notice they were there unless you need something and they usually think of it before you even ask! It was such a great service to have two people to answer any and all questions we had about the surrounding area and services. They pre-stocked the house with groceries before we arrived, arranged transportation, you name it. They could not have been more of a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire process. This was easily the best vacation rental trip we've ever taken and will be going back the second we can."

  • Spacious ground level condo with amazing views of the ocean and pools

"My husband and I spent 10 glorious, relaxing days in this lovely condo. We were within walking distance of the Mega store for groceries and situated on the beach to also be within walking distance to Zippers for lunch or dinner. Mama Mia's next door at the Coral Baja was handy for Happy Hour and other meals as well as Sardina Cantina just outside the complex on the highway. The condo itself showed exactly as the pictures posted. It was extremely comfortable with all the amenities one would need to cook meals at home. Plenty of towels for the bath and the beach. We loved having coffee on the deck in the morning and having meals outside with our friends. The owner was easily contacted as well as her property manager. We did not want for anything. Thanks so much Susanne & Bonnie. We felt safe at all times and enjoyed our many strolls on the beach and into the town for the art walks as well as the weekend jazz festival. Our friends had a car so we were able to get to Cabo quite easily and take a boat to the beaches. We hiked the hill to the white cross and the views from up top were fantastic. We also managed a drive to the Sierra de la Laguna Biosphere Reserve and hiked the trails there; cooling off in the pool by the waterfall. San Jose del Cabo is my new favorite Mexican destination. I would recommend this condo to any couple seeking a relaxing holiday. It was everything we expected and more!! We would definitely stay at this lovely condo again in the future."

  • Great place to relax in the sun!

"My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Jolla condominium. The apartment was spic and span and the view from the deck was as advertised. The place was well-stocked and the furnishings were charming. We enjoyed both pools and the beach as well. I only wish that we could have gone in the ocean, as I had hoped to snorkel, and that the little town was closer. We didn't have a car, so it was a bit far. That being said, we walked to the Mega grocery store, and we found plenty of good restaurants in easy walking distance. For sunning, reading, walking, and pool swimming, it is pretty well perfect."

San Jose del Cabo Travel Tips

San Jose Del Cabo Vacation Rentals for the Mature

Rest and relaxation, the two necessities of vacation, are plentiful in San Jose Del Cabo, California. San Jose Del Cabo is on the Baja Peninsula of California in an area that can seem quite confusing if you have never traveled there or viewed a map. The Baja Peninsula is definitely Mexico despite using Baja California in its name. When you rent any of the San Jose Del Cabo vacation rentals, you will immediately see the difference in other vacation spots and that of Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Lucas is a hot destination for college students and young couples, whereas San Jose Del Cabo is for the more mature group. Adults who want rest and relaxation always take advantage of the San Jose Del Cabo vacation houses.

San Jose Del Cabo Vacation Houses and Nearby Heritage and Culture

Baja California has its roots in the 16th and 17th century, when Spanish galleons would drop anchor on the coast to find fresh water. Many of the ships were coming from the Philippines to Acapulco but would be unable to make it without a stop on the peninsula for water. The bays were also a prominent spot for pirates to raid ships because they were able to hide and surprise the Spanish galleons full of cargo. This led to the first permanent settlement of the Baja Peninsula. In 1730, the area received yet another change as Padre Nicolas Tamaral began the Mission San Jose del Cabo overlooking the Rio San Jose. Again the Spanish lost ground fighting with Native Indians and mosquitoes until a military outpost strengthened their hold. The Mexican American War decided the fate of the Baja Peninsula, leaving it in control of Mexico while the upper portion was engulfed in the U.S. When you stay at San Jose Del Cabo vacation houses, you will be treated to more of the heritage and culture the Mexican destination has to offer.

The Practicality of San Jose Del Cabo Condos

First and foremost, San Jose Del Cabo condos are located in Mexico which means you need a passport no matter how you enter the country. There are two ways to reach San Jose Del Cabo. You can enter Mexico at Tijuana which is just below San Diego. Highway 1 takes you all the way down to the very tip of Baja California. Your other option is to fly into San Jose Del Cabo International Airport which is eight miles to the north of the city. Taxis are available but if you want to see the entire area, you will need to rent a car. San Jose Del Cabo is spread out over several miles which means many of the attractions require a taxi ride or car. A taxi averages $15 to $30 depending on how far you are travelling, though public transportation in the form of buses is a viable alternative to renting a car or taxi as well.

Beaches and Recreation for Your Vacation to Mexico

San Jose Del Cabo provides you with fun on several beaches including La Playita. La Playita is one of the calmest layouts of sandy beach located approximately two miles south of San Jose in Pueblo la Playa. They have new public facilities with a cobbled walkway from the beach to the town and a playground for the children. Another beach, Playa Costa Azul, is better for watersports, particularly surfing. Underwater recreation can be found at Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park. This is the only protected coral reef on the Sea of Cortez. Its amazing reefs hold many secrets for divers and if you snorkel, there are definitely plenty of fish to view from above. Shopping and dining are also spread throughout San Jose Del Cabo if you feel like taking in some of the local color. Your San Jose Del Cabo vacation rentals provide you with a kitchen in the event you wish to prepare your own meals.
