"Fantastic! This property is exactly as advertised. We had a wonderful time walking the beach, playing in the ocean, relaxing poolside, and enjoying the view while eating meals from the spacious deck. The beds were perfect, the bathroom and laundry facilities were of high standards. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and the bus stop. We love San Jose del Cabo."

  • AMAZING!!!!!! Perfect Girls getaway

"What a rental!!!! THis is THE perfect place for a girls or couples getaway. It is a safe, quiet community only a small walk to the beach and surf. The layout is absolute perfection for any group. HIGHLY recommended. We booked with a group of 10 girls and had more than enough room. The booking process was painless and the owners are great with their communication and ease of check in and out as well as providing us with more than expected with travel information etc etc. LOVE LOVE LOVE"

  • A true piece of paradise

"Virginia and Peter were excellent to deal with and made us feel at home from the moment we walked into their piece of paradise, and as Canadians ourselves it was a pleasure to do business with our countrymen. We were even met at the airport by their daughter Monica who gave us a ride to the condo and showed us around and how everything worked. We stayed for almost 3 weeks and really did find it felt like home. The weekly maid service was excellent. We enjoyed coffee in the morning on the balcony and wine in the evenings in the same spot. There is usually a cool ocean breeze across the balcony and while we were there at the hottest time of the year we found that we did not need the A/C all that much. The balcony does face a somewhat busy street in the daytime, but it quiets down fairly early in the evening. There was daily spraying for bugs by the municipality in the evening so we had to retreat inside for 15 minutes or so while this was happening, but as a result you can sit on the balcony at night and not get eaten alive by mosquitoes. Easy 10 minute walk to beach, 2 minute walk to Mega where you can get all your groceries, etc. and about a 20 minute walk to downtown San Jose or a 50 peso taxi ride. Be sure to check out CJ's located at the intersection past the Barcelo for breakfast...great eggs benedict amongst others. They are also open for lunch and some dinners. San Jose is much more relaxed than San Lucas and if you are not heavily into the party scene then I would suggest this location. It was a very restful visit and very peaceful as well. We only saw one other couple use the pool and only on one occasion. If you are looking to completely relax then this is the place for you. You dont need to bring anything except your clothes, everything else you need is already there. Thanks again Virgina, Peter and Monica for making our stay so comfortable. Claude and Maureen"

San Jose del Cabo Travel Tips

San Jose Del Cabo Vacation Rentals for the Mature

Rest and relaxation, the two necessities of vacation, are plentiful in San Jose Del Cabo, California. San Jose Del Cabo is on the Baja Peninsula of California in an area that can seem quite confusing if you have never traveled there or viewed a map. The Baja Peninsula is definitely Mexico despite using Baja California in its name. When you rent any of the San Jose Del Cabo vacation rentals, you will immediately see the difference in other vacation spots and that of Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Lucas is a hot destination for college students and young couples, whereas San Jose Del Cabo is for the more mature group. Adults who want rest and relaxation always take advantage of the San Jose Del Cabo vacation houses.

San Jose Del Cabo Vacation Houses and Nearby Heritage and Culture

Baja California has its roots in the 16th and 17th century, when Spanish galleons would drop anchor on the coast to find fresh water. Many of the ships were coming from the Philippines to Acapulco but would be unable to make it without a stop on the peninsula for water. The bays were also a prominent spot for pirates to raid ships because they were able to hide and surprise the Spanish galleons full of cargo. This led to the first permanent settlement of the Baja Peninsula. In 1730, the area received yet another change as Padre Nicolas Tamaral began the Mission San Jose del Cabo overlooking the Rio San Jose. Again the Spanish lost ground fighting with Native Indians and mosquitoes until a military outpost strengthened their hold. The Mexican American War decided the fate of the Baja Peninsula, leaving it in control of Mexico while the upper portion was engulfed in the U.S. When you stay at San Jose Del Cabo vacation houses, you will be treated to more of the heritage and culture the Mexican destination has to offer.

The Practicality of San Jose Del Cabo Condos

First and foremost, San Jose Del Cabo condos are located in Mexico which means you need a passport no matter how you enter the country. There are two ways to reach San Jose Del Cabo. You can enter Mexico at Tijuana which is just below San Diego. Highway 1 takes you all the way down to the very tip of Baja California. Your other option is to fly into San Jose Del Cabo International Airport which is eight miles to the north of the city. Taxis are available but if you want to see the entire area, you will need to rent a car. San Jose Del Cabo is spread out over several miles which means many of the attractions require a taxi ride or car. A taxi averages $15 to $30 depending on how far you are travelling, though public transportation in the form of buses is a viable alternative to renting a car or taxi as well.

Beaches and Recreation for Your Vacation to Mexico

San Jose Del Cabo provides you with fun on several beaches including La Playita. La Playita is one of the calmest layouts of sandy beach located approximately two miles south of San Jose in Pueblo la Playa. They have new public facilities with a cobbled walkway from the beach to the town and a playground for the children. Another beach, Playa Costa Azul, is better for watersports, particularly surfing. Underwater recreation can be found at Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park. This is the only protected coral reef on the Sea of Cortez. Its amazing reefs hold many secrets for divers and if you snorkel, there are definitely plenty of fish to view from above. Shopping and dining are also spread throughout San Jose Del Cabo if you feel like taking in some of the local color. Your San Jose Del Cabo vacation rentals provide you with a kitchen in the event you wish to prepare your own meals.
