  • ElZalate Vacation Rental

"The listing description was accurate regarding the location, well presented but, pictures are never perfect. ElZalate is a beautiful 4 bldgs. complex and situated right on the beach, the view was pheonomenal being on the 4th floor. The unit itself, the kitchen was well provided, however, this particular unit, was very noisy with different weekly renters above us, "from moving furnitures, walking with heavy shoes, moving chairs etc.." at any time during the day and nigfht, it was nerve racking. The property was clean but I wouldn't say well maintained, All the screen windows and doors are broken, insects were coming in and the owner's personal effects in "closets and under cabinets in bathrooms were there, not too much room for us to hang our clothes when you are there for 3 months, so it was tight. The pillows were terrible in both bedrooms, I wouldn't give those to the Salvation Army, they were realy bad, the linen need to be updated also very poor. This whole unit need to be refresh totally "Paint Job". The 5 ceiling fans were so dirty that I decided to climb on the bar stool and clean them, lot of dust. We wouldn't recommend this unit to any body because of mainly the "NOISE ABOVE" . San Jose del Cabo is a net little place to visit if you are into buying Silver, no shopping for clothes, many extremly good restaurants to choose from, taxi service is very good and not to expensive. This is not a swimming beach, it is too rough and difficult to walk also. The grounds around the complex is lovely, very well maintained and very clean. The security guard "Loupe" was very helpful, nice and very pleasant. All and all, we have enjoyed our stay, we rented a car for 21/2 months and driven to many places, all the eating places were excellent, clean and public washrooms very modern and clean. We did ocean activities a few times, also we went on a dinner cruise on the Caborey, a Catamaran boat, one night which was excellent, including the show, well worth $92.00 per person. The owners were helpful in answering our questions, polite and nice. I don't think we will go back."

  • Astounding Relaxation and Fun

"I can't give enough accolades about this property to do it justice. The pictures are absolutely correct in that it's gorgeous, luxurious, splendid, amazing, etc. etc. We arrived on a Friday after following technically correct instructions (but we still got a little lost in the twists and turns anyway) to Chef Ericson who was passing out delicious margaritas. They were the best margaritas we have tasted (we all agreed!). We first took a tour of the main house. We were staying with our children, my sister, my parents, and my Grandparents. My family and my sister took the three bedrooms upstairs. The AC is controlled by only one of the rooms... so be sure you have a good relationship with whoever is staying in the room with the AC. :) My parents & Grandparents took the downstairs suites. Oh my goodness, their showers and bathrooms were amazing! They loved it. The Amazing - Ericson!! You MUST hire her and have her cook a few meals for you. The same price gets you dinner + lunch or breakfast. Being served drinks, appetizers, food, dessert, and doing all the dishes... is SERIOUSLY AMAZING. Plus, Ericson is one of the best, most kind-hearted person you have ever met. The Bad - The coffee pot takes forever! (Isn't it awesome that the worst part of the review is that the coffee pot takes forever? We actually forgot to tell Greg that so, hi Greg! Maybe invest in a new coffee pot! LOL) My Grandpa would get up at 6am every morning and pour in 8 cups of coffee and after a half hour, maybe 3 cups would come out. We couldn't figure out if it was the setting, or if it was evaporating.. Anyway.) The kitchen could use a few random things to help if you cook at home but honestly you just ask Ericson and she disappears and reappears with it (like I wanted a cheese grater!) after going to the main kitchen at the next door house. When we had a few problems, we just emailed Greg. In some instances, he showed up within 10 minutes! My Mom's AC was loud one night so they came over and visited and replaced some stuff. We couldn't get the Jacuzzi working after the first night so he labeled a few of the buttons and voila, it's perfect. Say hi to the cute little iguana who lives around it, he's always there! If you have knee problems, you may want to bring your cane for getting up and down the stairs. I'm running out of room in this review... Best place ever! Check out Buzzards down the street. Rent an ATV. Visit the bird estuary. Bring bug spray. Cheers!"

  • THIRD TIME

"Third time here and will be back again. Owner is super easy to work with and the condo is updated with quality items. Nice satelite selection and HD tv in living room and bedroom. Cannot go wrong here for the price. You do get some slight noise from the highway when outside but I have no idea what the one reviewer was talking about. Super comfortable king bed that we slept great on. Owner let us check out late as he was open the next day. Wifi works great and the owner responds very quickly to any questions. Great area for surfings and no vendors on the beach. Very close to San Jose and all it's great restaurants."

San Jose del Cabo Travel Tips

San Jose Del Cabo Vacation Rentals for the Mature

Rest and relaxation, the two necessities of vacation, are plentiful in San Jose Del Cabo, California. San Jose Del Cabo is on the Baja Peninsula of California in an area that can seem quite confusing if you have never traveled there or viewed a map. The Baja Peninsula is definitely Mexico despite using Baja California in its name. When you rent any of the San Jose Del Cabo vacation rentals, you will immediately see the difference in other vacation spots and that of Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Lucas is a hot destination for college students and young couples, whereas San Jose Del Cabo is for the more mature group. Adults who want rest and relaxation always take advantage of the San Jose Del Cabo vacation houses.

San Jose Del Cabo Vacation Houses and Nearby Heritage and Culture

Baja California has its roots in the 16th and 17th century, when Spanish galleons would drop anchor on the coast to find fresh water. Many of the ships were coming from the Philippines to Acapulco but would be unable to make it without a stop on the peninsula for water. The bays were also a prominent spot for pirates to raid ships because they were able to hide and surprise the Spanish galleons full of cargo. This led to the first permanent settlement of the Baja Peninsula. In 1730, the area received yet another change as Padre Nicolas Tamaral began the Mission San Jose del Cabo overlooking the Rio San Jose. Again the Spanish lost ground fighting with Native Indians and mosquitoes until a military outpost strengthened their hold. The Mexican American War decided the fate of the Baja Peninsula, leaving it in control of Mexico while the upper portion was engulfed in the U.S. When you stay at San Jose Del Cabo vacation houses, you will be treated to more of the heritage and culture the Mexican destination has to offer.

The Practicality of San Jose Del Cabo Condos

First and foremost, San Jose Del Cabo condos are located in Mexico which means you need a passport no matter how you enter the country. There are two ways to reach San Jose Del Cabo. You can enter Mexico at Tijuana which is just below San Diego. Highway 1 takes you all the way down to the very tip of Baja California. Your other option is to fly into San Jose Del Cabo International Airport which is eight miles to the north of the city. Taxis are available but if you want to see the entire area, you will need to rent a car. San Jose Del Cabo is spread out over several miles which means many of the attractions require a taxi ride or car. A taxi averages $15 to $30 depending on how far you are travelling, though public transportation in the form of buses is a viable alternative to renting a car or taxi as well.

Beaches and Recreation for Your Vacation to Mexico

San Jose Del Cabo provides you with fun on several beaches including La Playita. La Playita is one of the calmest layouts of sandy beach located approximately two miles south of San Jose in Pueblo la Playa. They have new public facilities with a cobbled walkway from the beach to the town and a playground for the children. Another beach, Playa Costa Azul, is better for watersports, particularly surfing. Underwater recreation can be found at Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park. This is the only protected coral reef on the Sea of Cortez. Its amazing reefs hold many secrets for divers and if you snorkel, there are definitely plenty of fish to view from above. Shopping and dining are also spread throughout San Jose Del Cabo if you feel like taking in some of the local color. Your San Jose Del Cabo vacation rentals provide you with a kitchen in the event you wish to prepare your own meals.
