  • Great Spring Break

"Great location, both within Cabo, and within the property. Easy to hit the beach and pool. Enjoyed facilities (Pool, Bar, Hot Tub, and BBQ's) which the staff keeps uberclean! Condo itself is very comfortable, and great new appliances, which I now see where installed just prior to our trip. I would rent again, much to the pleasure of my family."

  • Our Wonderful Family Cabo Trip

"We really had no expectations, and were so very pleased when we walked into the unit. As we opened the door there was the ocean staring right at us. From the second floor wrap-around balcony we had a magnificent view of the ocean. Although we were on the cusp of a hurricane and the waters were very dangerous, we found fun at the two pools. The grounds are perfectly manicured and the groundskeepers were working every day to keep it manicured. The unit was adequate for our needs. My husband and I had the king-sized bedroom and our daughter, son-in-law and 9-yr. old grandson had the other bedrrom with a queen and single. Each bedroom having it's own private bath was a plus for all of us. We would recommend La Jolla to everyone who is looking for a serene setting in a beautiful part of the world. We felt safe and comfortable during our week stay. We did rent a car at the airport and were glad we did because it gave us a chance to see other beaches and tour the area. The town of San Jose was lovely. We like it much better than Cabo San Lucas (too busy). Lovely restaurants in town especially Jazmin, one of our favorites. Good food and great atmosphere."

  • Great vacation home and hosts!

"We had a great time in Cabo and the house was perfect for our family of five. Extremely clean, well furnished, and like new. The pool and outside areas were beautifully landscaped. It is well located high on a hill in Los Cabos. Very close to shopping, restaurants, beaches, and Cabo San Lucas. Maria and Robert were gracious and helpful hosts. We talked with Maria and Robert 2 times before we arrived and they hooked us up with fishing, a private cook, and great recommendations for activities and restaurants. Went out fishing twice and caught lots of mahi, rooster fish, and Sierra mackerel. We also road ATVs, went snorkeling, and just had fun on the beach. The day we arrived we were met at the door by Elba, our cook, with margaritas and appetizers. We then spent the next 4 1/2 hours with our 18 year old twins and 24 year old daughter laughing on the porch by the pool while being served a four course meal. When is the last time you had that great of family time with teenagers? Priceless! Maria called twice while we were there to make sure everything was perfect and was very available if we needed anything. Wednesday before lunch we discovered we had no water at the house. We called Robert who said "Welcome to Mexico", but they had us covered. They had an auxiliary water source that was suppose to take over in situations like this but the pump did not kick on. Maria immediately called a plumber who by the time we returned from our afternoon activity had everything working again! We did not experience any inconvenience because of their immediate actions. We had a wonderful time in Cabo certainly in part because of our gracious hosts and their beautiful home."

  • Christmas with the family.

"Just returned from a wonderful 2013 Christmas Trip with the family to Gert's Condo. The condo was just perfect and had everything that we needed. A brief walk to the Mega for supplies was most convenient, the pool area is beautiful and the beach is right there also. Thanks Gert for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful home."

San Jose del Cabo Travel Tips

San Jose Del Cabo Vacation Rentals for the Mature

Rest and relaxation, the two necessities of vacation, are plentiful in San Jose Del Cabo, California. San Jose Del Cabo is on the Baja Peninsula of California in an area that can seem quite confusing if you have never traveled there or viewed a map. The Baja Peninsula is definitely Mexico despite using Baja California in its name. When you rent any of the San Jose Del Cabo vacation rentals, you will immediately see the difference in other vacation spots and that of Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Lucas is a hot destination for college students and young couples, whereas San Jose Del Cabo is for the more mature group. Adults who want rest and relaxation always take advantage of the San Jose Del Cabo vacation houses.

San Jose Del Cabo Vacation Houses and Nearby Heritage and Culture

Baja California has its roots in the 16th and 17th century, when Spanish galleons would drop anchor on the coast to find fresh water. Many of the ships were coming from the Philippines to Acapulco but would be unable to make it without a stop on the peninsula for water. The bays were also a prominent spot for pirates to raid ships because they were able to hide and surprise the Spanish galleons full of cargo. This led to the first permanent settlement of the Baja Peninsula. In 1730, the area received yet another change as Padre Nicolas Tamaral began the Mission San Jose del Cabo overlooking the Rio San Jose. Again the Spanish lost ground fighting with Native Indians and mosquitoes until a military outpost strengthened their hold. The Mexican American War decided the fate of the Baja Peninsula, leaving it in control of Mexico while the upper portion was engulfed in the U.S. When you stay at San Jose Del Cabo vacation houses, you will be treated to more of the heritage and culture the Mexican destination has to offer.

The Practicality of San Jose Del Cabo Condos

First and foremost, San Jose Del Cabo condos are located in Mexico which means you need a passport no matter how you enter the country. There are two ways to reach San Jose Del Cabo. You can enter Mexico at Tijuana which is just below San Diego. Highway 1 takes you all the way down to the very tip of Baja California. Your other option is to fly into San Jose Del Cabo International Airport which is eight miles to the north of the city. Taxis are available but if you want to see the entire area, you will need to rent a car. San Jose Del Cabo is spread out over several miles which means many of the attractions require a taxi ride or car. A taxi averages $15 to $30 depending on how far you are travelling, though public transportation in the form of buses is a viable alternative to renting a car or taxi as well.

Beaches and Recreation for Your Vacation to Mexico

San Jose Del Cabo provides you with fun on several beaches including La Playita. La Playita is one of the calmest layouts of sandy beach located approximately two miles south of San Jose in Pueblo la Playa. They have new public facilities with a cobbled walkway from the beach to the town and a playground for the children. Another beach, Playa Costa Azul, is better for watersports, particularly surfing. Underwater recreation can be found at Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park. This is the only protected coral reef on the Sea of Cortez. Its amazing reefs hold many secrets for divers and if you snorkel, there are definitely plenty of fish to view from above. Shopping and dining are also spread throughout San Jose Del Cabo if you feel like taking in some of the local color. Your San Jose Del Cabo vacation rentals provide you with a kitchen in the event you wish to prepare your own meals.
