  • The Casita at Casa Paloma

"BCS a great place to visit, but Cabo is not quite what you have in mind? Me neither! That’s why I sought this more remote getaway location, right on the Pacific Ocean that comes complete with flying manta rays much of the time and whales in the right season. Dine in or dine out – your choice. Lots of cozy places to choose from within minutes on the highway north to Todos Santos at Piscadero, or drive in to Todos Santos for still more options. What to do? The ocean for one. There are miles of beaches to hike comb, and explore, or hike the headlands for outstanding views. Then that are the mountains to the east. Speaking of those mountains – the nights make for cool sleeping with the breezes coming down from those slopes. And the ever-present sound of the waves crashing on the beach is white noise from King Neptune or his BCS equivalent. Sweet dreams. We had the two-bedroom, one-bath casita complete with full kitchen and living room. There is a front porch with table and chairs for outside dining, stairs to the roof for great views in all directions or just lounging. Want a quiet place to read or just seek solitude – head up to the roof. The grounds are like a botanical garden BCS style. Beautiful! Lastly, the people are friendly and most helpful. There is communication even if you have yet to master Spanish or even if you know only a few words. It’s not a problem. From the airport as San Jose del Cabo it’s about an hour to Casa Paloma. There is a very handy Costco store where you may choose to stock up for your stay in Cabo just off the highway as you enter Cabo from the east – a beautiful drive. Why am I writing this? I need to go back!"

  • Absolutely beautiful

"My wife and I had a fantastic 10 days here sitting on the large deck reading listening and watching the beach and surf. Falling asleep to surf. We enjoyed swimming, snorkelling at Chileano and Palmilla Beach, exploring San Jose del Cabo (cobblestones and old town) and Cabo San Lucas (arch). The condo is extremely clean, well laid out and has everything you need including satellite tv and wifi. The 160 degree view of the sea and beach is incredible and makes you not want to leave. We will be back"

"Our stay was better than expected! The property and location was perfect for our needs. Rick was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING before and during our entire stay. The Internet was inconsistent but I can't think of another single thing we would want changed. We have already recommended this property and Rick to our friends and clients. We were VERY satisfied our stay!!!!!"

  • La Paz

"The condo we stayed at was very nice and the overall complex was great. We did lose electricity for 24 hours and no AC for a day after the power came back on. It was very hot the whole week due to rain coming in so that was cumbersome. The communication was very vague which made it frustrating. You do have to take a boat ride everytime you want to go to town - so you do have to plan around pick up times shuttle to boat etc. If you are there mainly to relax it would not be a problem."

Baja California Sur Travel Tips

Family Fun at Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

Baja California Sur is a great family destination. The vacation homes available vary in size and some can accommodate up to 16 people. This means that you can enjoy a vacation with your siblings and their extended families, and have a whale of a time enjoying the beaches and other activities together. There are a number of well-known resort towns along the coast and many vacation rentals available in each town. Some of the more well-known vacation areas include Todos Santos, San Jose Del Cabo, Tortuga, La Paz, and La Ribera. Favorite activities include fishing and golf, although there are plenty of other activities to keep the kids occupied. The beaches are great for building sandcastles, although the sea can sometimes be a bit too rough for swimming. Many of the vacation homes have swimming pools where you can cool off from the Mexican heat.

Seasons to Visit Baja California Sur Beach Houses

Baja California Sur enjoys a year-round hot climate. For some people, the summer months of June through August may be a bit too extreme but still many families come to enjoy their vacations during this time of year. Possibly the better time to visit is December through April when the weather is slightly milder and temperatures aren’t quite as hot. You can still enjoy warm sunshine each day and if the evenings get a bit chilly, you can always light up the fireplace to keep warm.

Luxury and Comfort at Baja California Sur Resorts

You can enjoy sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez from the bedroom of your vacation villa. Wake up each morning with the sea peaking over the water and glistening in the early dawn. Large shaded decks provide the ideal place to enjoy meals and socialize with family and friends. Take a batch of your favorite books and enjoy reading in a hammock while the warm breeze blows overhead. If you enjoy watching the waves, you may be fortunate to spot whales, dolphins or rays playing in the waves below. You will find that most villas are extremely spacious with multiple dining and living areas suitable for groups vacationing together. Modern and well-equipped kitchens make holiday catering easy. Some villas offer the services of a cook or house manager who will take care of groceries and preparing meals upon request. Bedrooms have ceiling fans or air conditioners to provide respite from the heat. This means that you are able to enjoy the warm climate without feeling discomfort.

Things to See and Do near Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

One of the favorite activities on the Baja California Sur peninsula is fishing. Often, you can fish from the beach right outside your vacation home which negates the need to get in your car and travel anywhere. If you would like to head out and try to catch some of the big game fish such as marlin, tuna, dorado or wahoo then it’s best to join a fishing charter. The boats go out daily from the local marinas and are crewed by professional skippers that know where to find the fish. Be sure to take a wide-brimmed hat and loads of sunscreen, otherwise you may come back looking like a lobster yourself. There are several luxury health spas in the region where you can enjoy some pampering treatments and beauty therapy. This is an ideal way to spend your day when your spouse heads to one of the top-quality golf courses in the area.
