  • A Slice of Heaven

"We stayed for a week in this beautiful condo set on a gorgeous property for our first visit to Cabo and this momma was happy! Working with the condo owners prior to our stay was a breeze. They were very quick to respond and went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable. We brought four teenagers with us (my kids each brought a friend) ranging from 16-18 years and they were so impressed with what Villa La Estancia had to offer. They also loved the layout of the condo and appreciated the ground floor access, huge veranda, and privacy of a separate entrance. There was something for everyone. My husband and I appreciated the mellow atmosphere even during peak Spring Break season and the kids had plenty of opportunities to be kids (beach volleyball, pool fun, sand games, ocean swimming, parasailing, wave runners, and more.) We had plenty of lunches at La Parilla Grille poolside and the food was quite good! One of our kids isn't a big fan of Mexican food and he LOVED the burgers that were offered. I loved the fish tacos, quesadillas, and wraps. We also took advantage of the onsite deli and what a delightful experience! Their breakfasts were delicious and the fresh guacamole, pico, and chips were to die for! Nice to have a grocery store on property, as well for any little items we ran out of or forgot to get at Walmart. Since we were a group total of 38 people (high school graduation group) all renting from separate owners the convenience of getting into downtown with either 15 passenger vans, water taxis, or a walk on the beach was nice! One day we rented a catamaran for snorkeling and whale watching and that was a blast. The whales were breaching like crazy! Can't say enough good things about renting from these owners and the quality of condo 200049. I'd come back again in a heartbeat! Thanks Jeff and Kelly! You were wonderful to work with and we appreciate you sharing your lovely beach home with us."

  • Fabulous, comfortable Loreto Bay home

"Our expectations were exceeded staying at this home in the friendly Loreto Bay resort. It felt like being in the beautiful home of a friend. It was incredibly comfortable for the four of us (2 mature couples), spacious and well equipped with beautiful decorations, artwork, kitchen supplies, books, comfortable furniture and beds. The views from the upper decks were lovely especially in early morning and evening. Everything is available, from a decktop barbeque to a firepit. The location is perfect for getting to the beach or to the fantastic pool facility. The bikes, while funky, were a welcome and fun activity and way to get around the area. On Saturday, the weekly arrival of seafood Louis provided us with some of the best fresh shrimp and bass we've ever had. As noted, you will need to get in line early, as we did for the best selection. The owners were great to deal with and provided every possible resource and information to make our stay fantastic both before arriving and when we got there. Trips to the town of Loreto require a taxi (200 pesos each way) unless you have your own vehicle. And if you want to make your own meals, you will need to shop in the town of Loreto for most items. There are a few eateries and a very small grocery in the Loreto Bay condo/village area, but that's limited. The coffee shop in the condo village is particularly good and friendly, with great baked items, espresso drinks and a fantastic brunch on Sunday morning. My wife had them make an amazing chocolate layer birthday cake for me as a surprise and I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit the four of us finished off a cake made for about 8. This has nothing to do with the rental, but one caution: if you rent kayaks (a highly recommended activity) from the vendor on the nearby beach, make sure you ask for the ones that do not leak. Enough said. In summary, this rental made for a great beginning to our Loreto adventure trip and we would not hesitate renting it again or recommending it to all of our friends. Look no further, this is the place you're looking for."

  • Our escape from the frozen northern tundra

"What a beautiful condo in a fabulous area. My husband and I have travelled to Cabo a few years back and have really enjoyed staying in this part of Mexico. It felt safe to explore the many shops in San Jose during the day and eat in the restaurants in the evening. There are many restaurants and stores to visit while in San Jose area including a Walmart and a Costco. The Mega store (grocery) has everything you need & is not far from the condo for picking up adult beverages and BBQ goodies for back at the unit. There is an elevator from the parking garage to the condo that makes it super easy to carry luggage or grocery bags from the car to door. This unit is located on the second floor so there are great views of the ocean. Every morning we could sit out on the balcony sipping coffee & tea while watching the whales breaching in the bay. The golf course is a Jack Nicklaus layout and though we didn't play it this trip it looked like a great track. The condo has everything you need for your stay. It was tough leaving this paradise to return to the frozen north."

  • Remote, relaxing place

"My wife and I just returned from a week at the bungalow, and had a great time. The place is a bit set off of the beach, but it is set in a nice canopied palm and scrub forest that gives it a very secluded feel. The beach is just a few hundred meters down the path, and there is only one house on the beach for a mile or so! We encountered only handful of other beach goers in the many walks we took, it is truly remarkable to have miles of white sand beach to yourself. As Josh and other reviewers have said, this is not a place for everyone. You are very isolated, will need to climb the stairs to the sleeping loft, and there is no AC (we were there during the hottest season, and were just fine with fans). Josh was around and easily contacted for supplies or needs, but was never intrusive. You also need to love animals, because there are a lot of them around! The dogs and cats are sweethearts, and really enjoy your company without being needy. We flyfished off the beach in morning, and caught ladyfish and Jack Crevalle, swam and really enjoyed our beach walks. If you like to really get away, and are somewhat self sufficient, you will love this place."

Baja California Sur Travel Tips

Family Fun at Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

Baja California Sur is a great family destination. The vacation homes available vary in size and some can accommodate up to 16 people. This means that you can enjoy a vacation with your siblings and their extended families, and have a whale of a time enjoying the beaches and other activities together. There are a number of well-known resort towns along the coast and many vacation rentals available in each town. Some of the more well-known vacation areas include Todos Santos, San Jose Del Cabo, Tortuga, La Paz, and La Ribera. Favorite activities include fishing and golf, although there are plenty of other activities to keep the kids occupied. The beaches are great for building sandcastles, although the sea can sometimes be a bit too rough for swimming. Many of the vacation homes have swimming pools where you can cool off from the Mexican heat.

Seasons to Visit Baja California Sur Beach Houses

Baja California Sur enjoys a year-round hot climate. For some people, the summer months of June through August may be a bit too extreme but still many families come to enjoy their vacations during this time of year. Possibly the better time to visit is December through April when the weather is slightly milder and temperatures aren’t quite as hot. You can still enjoy warm sunshine each day and if the evenings get a bit chilly, you can always light up the fireplace to keep warm.

Luxury and Comfort at Baja California Sur Resorts

You can enjoy sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez from the bedroom of your vacation villa. Wake up each morning with the sea peaking over the water and glistening in the early dawn. Large shaded decks provide the ideal place to enjoy meals and socialize with family and friends. Take a batch of your favorite books and enjoy reading in a hammock while the warm breeze blows overhead. If you enjoy watching the waves, you may be fortunate to spot whales, dolphins or rays playing in the waves below. You will find that most villas are extremely spacious with multiple dining and living areas suitable for groups vacationing together. Modern and well-equipped kitchens make holiday catering easy. Some villas offer the services of a cook or house manager who will take care of groceries and preparing meals upon request. Bedrooms have ceiling fans or air conditioners to provide respite from the heat. This means that you are able to enjoy the warm climate without feeling discomfort.

Things to See and Do near Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

One of the favorite activities on the Baja California Sur peninsula is fishing. Often, you can fish from the beach right outside your vacation home which negates the need to get in your car and travel anywhere. If you would like to head out and try to catch some of the big game fish such as marlin, tuna, dorado or wahoo then it’s best to join a fishing charter. The boats go out daily from the local marinas and are crewed by professional skippers that know where to find the fish. Be sure to take a wide-brimmed hat and loads of sunscreen, otherwise you may come back looking like a lobster yourself. There are several luxury health spas in the region where you can enjoy some pampering treatments and beauty therapy. This is an ideal way to spend your day when your spouse heads to one of the top-quality golf courses in the area.
