  • AMAZING

"This was the best trip ever. I can't wait to go back. The grounds are immaculate, the people are friendly, the food is delicious and the unit we stayed in was perfect. It had everything we needed. It was close enough to the town to walk. The restaurants on the property were amazing too. The water was calm in this area so we were able to go in. The walks on the beach were the prettiest I've ever seen. We are booking another trip back in November. Everyone must see Cabo at least once and the only place to stay is LaEstancia. Our unit had a perfect view, morning sun, wi-fi, and was well equipped with everything we needed."

  • Quiet, feeling like a local.

"The casita had everything we needed for a relaxing break away from the busy-ness of a pre-arranged, all-inclusive resort vacation. We've done that, a resort is okay, but the seclusion of small-town Los Barriles is just what we were looking for. We opted not to get a car, but probably will next time...or maybe just a quad, we didn't really need a car. Instead, we had Wolf Management arrange a pick-up for us at the airport. Reasonably priced and friendly, the guys at Turis Pancho were at the airport waiting with a van for just us. We stopped a local mini-mart for a few beverages before we left Los Cabos and they took us to a grocery store in Los Barriles for some more essentials. We met up with Wolf Property folks and they checked us right in. (I forgot about the deposit, but had the cash on me which they refunded in the same cash at check-out.) Los Barriles is tiny, but we weren't here for anything but relaxation. We kept saying we'd go to town and get a car or a quad, but it took us three days to bother to walk all the way into town when a grocery store was an easy walk in a safe neighborhood. It was not a bad walk to town, we just didn't feel like bothering and Wolf said they'd have a car delivered if we wanted. Everyone took dollars at a reasonable exchange, so we didn't get pesos very often either. We'd just walk up the street for whatever sounded good (and for more limes...definitely perfected my margarita recipe...that's one tough blender!) Finally, we did rent a quad for a few days, and never felt the need for a car. The quad allowed us to run to town to eat out. Taqueria Viejo was our favorite, but Barilito was fine and the nachos at Vagos Sports Bar, where we watched the game, were excellent. We didn't go to town for the nightlife; if you want a big party, this isn't your place I've heard, but I never checked for myself. If you want to relax on the beach, kayak at a leisurely pace and snorkle for fun, it's all right here. We aren't fishermen, but did see folks fishing from the beach or from small boats. We loved the privacy, the beach was always clean and quiet. The noisiest thing was the quads, but they're just not that bothersome when you're relaxing on the beach. We loved our time in Los Barriles and at the casita!!"

  • Stay at Casa Rincon

"We had such a great time! We had a large group (7 of us) so we rented both the upstairs and downstairs. The kids stayed in the upstairs and really enjoyed having their own space there. Everything about the house was great! It looked just like all of the pictures. All of the amenities were exactly as described. It was nice to have all of the recommendations of things to do waiting for us when we got there. Lyn's book of recommendations were so helpful! We enjoyed having the pool there, we loved coming home in the evenings and relaxing by the pool and swimming. The kids walked down to the private beach and said it was a really nice area to just lay out or swim. It was great to cook right there and enjoy dinner by the pool. This is definitely the route to go. We were able to do so much and feel so comfortable without the hassle of a hotel."

Baja California Sur Travel Tips

Family Fun at Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

Baja California Sur is a great family destination. The vacation homes available vary in size and some can accommodate up to 16 people. This means that you can enjoy a vacation with your siblings and their extended families, and have a whale of a time enjoying the beaches and other activities together. There are a number of well-known resort towns along the coast and many vacation rentals available in each town. Some of the more well-known vacation areas include Todos Santos, San Jose Del Cabo, Tortuga, La Paz, and La Ribera. Favorite activities include fishing and golf, although there are plenty of other activities to keep the kids occupied. The beaches are great for building sandcastles, although the sea can sometimes be a bit too rough for swimming. Many of the vacation homes have swimming pools where you can cool off from the Mexican heat.

Seasons to Visit Baja California Sur Beach Houses

Baja California Sur enjoys a year-round hot climate. For some people, the summer months of June through August may be a bit too extreme but still many families come to enjoy their vacations during this time of year. Possibly the better time to visit is December through April when the weather is slightly milder and temperatures aren’t quite as hot. You can still enjoy warm sunshine each day and if the evenings get a bit chilly, you can always light up the fireplace to keep warm.

Luxury and Comfort at Baja California Sur Resorts

You can enjoy sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez from the bedroom of your vacation villa. Wake up each morning with the sea peaking over the water and glistening in the early dawn. Large shaded decks provide the ideal place to enjoy meals and socialize with family and friends. Take a batch of your favorite books and enjoy reading in a hammock while the warm breeze blows overhead. If you enjoy watching the waves, you may be fortunate to spot whales, dolphins or rays playing in the waves below. You will find that most villas are extremely spacious with multiple dining and living areas suitable for groups vacationing together. Modern and well-equipped kitchens make holiday catering easy. Some villas offer the services of a cook or house manager who will take care of groceries and preparing meals upon request. Bedrooms have ceiling fans or air conditioners to provide respite from the heat. This means that you are able to enjoy the warm climate without feeling discomfort.

Things to See and Do near Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

One of the favorite activities on the Baja California Sur peninsula is fishing. Often, you can fish from the beach right outside your vacation home which negates the need to get in your car and travel anywhere. If you would like to head out and try to catch some of the big game fish such as marlin, tuna, dorado or wahoo then it’s best to join a fishing charter. The boats go out daily from the local marinas and are crewed by professional skippers that know where to find the fish. Be sure to take a wide-brimmed hat and loads of sunscreen, otherwise you may come back looking like a lobster yourself. There are several luxury health spas in the region where you can enjoy some pampering treatments and beauty therapy. This is an ideal way to spend your day when your spouse heads to one of the top-quality golf courses in the area.
